తుమ్మిడిహెట్టి వద్ద బ్యారేజీ నిర్మాణం చేపట్టే కార్యాచరణ వేగవంతం చేయాలని ముఖ్యమంత్రి శ్రీ రేవంత్ రెడ్డి గారు అధికారులకు ఆదేశాలు జారీ చేశారు.

తుమ్మిడిహెట్టి వద్ద బ్యారేజీ నిర్మాణం చేపట్టే కార్యాచరణ వేగవంతం చేయాలని ముఖ్యమంత్రి శ్రీ రేవంత్ రెడ్డి గారు అధికారులకు ఆదేశాలు జారీ చేశారు. ఎంసీహెచ్ఆర్డీలో ఉన్నతస్థాయి సమావేశంలో ఈ మేరకు ఆదేశాలిచ్చారు.

ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారు నీటి పారుదల శాఖ మంత్రి ఉత్తమ్ కుమార్ రెడ్డి గారు, మంత్రి తుమ్మల నాగేశ్వరరావు గారు, ఎంపీ వేం నరేందర్ రెడ్డి గారితో పాటు నీటి పారుదల శాఖకు చెందిన సీనియర్ అధికారులు ఈ సమావేశంలో పాల్గొన్నారు.

తుమ్మిడిహెట్టి బ్యారేజీ ఎంత ఎత్తున నిర్మించాలి, ఎంత ఎత్తులో నిర్మిస్తే ఎంత నీటిని వినియోగించుకునే వీలుందని సమావేశంలో అధికారులు పవర్ పాయింట్ ప్రెజెంటేషన్ ఇచ్చారు.

ప్రాణహిత చేవెళ్ల ప్రాజెక్టు కోసం తెలంగాణ ప్రభుత్వం ఇప్పటికే దాదాపు 11 వేల కోట్ల రూపాయలు ఖర్చు చేసిందని, కొన్ని ప్రాంతాల్లో కాల్వల నిర్మాణం కూడా జరిగింది. 71.5 కిలోమీటర్ల మేరకు కెనాల్ వర్క్ జరిగిందని అధికారులు వివరించారు.

150 మీటర్ల ఎత్తున నిర్మిస్తే కనీసం 100 టీఎంసీల నీటిని వినియోగించుకునే వీలుంటుందని, తెలంగాణ ప్రయోజనాలు నెరవేరుతాయని సూచించారు. ఇప్పటికే పూర్తయిన నిర్మాణాలన్నిటిని సద్వినియోగం చేసుకునేందుకు 150 మీటర్ల ఎత్తున బ్యారేజీ నిర్మించాలని నిపుణులు సూచించారు.

గతంలో జరిగిన చర్చల ప్రకారం మహారాష్ట్ర 148 మీటర్ల ఎత్తు నిర్మించేందుకు అంగీకరించిందని, 152 మీటర్ల ఎత్తు నిర్మిస్తే మహారాష్ట్ర పరిధిలో ముంపు ప్రభావం ఉంటుందని మధ్యేమార్గంగా 150 మీటర్ల ఎత్తు నిర్మిస్తే తక్కువ ఖర్చుతో నీటిని తీసుకునే వీలుందని ఇంజనీరింగ్ నిపుణులు సూచించారు.

తుమ్మిడిహెట్టి వద్ద బ్యారేజీ నిర్మాణం చేపడితే ఆదిలాబాద్‌తో పాటు తెలంగాణలో మెట్ట ప్రాంతాల రైతులకు సాగు, తాగు నీటిని అందించవచ్చని, అలాగే, తక్కువ ఖర్చుతో గ్రావిటీపై శ్రీపాద ఎల్లంపల్లి రిజర్వాయర్‌కు నీటిని తరలించేందుకు వీలుంటుందని ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారు చెప్పారు.

ప్రాజెక్ట్ ప్రాధాన్యత దృష్ట్యా వెంటనే మహారాష్ట్రతో సంప్రదింపులు జరపాలని ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారు ఆదేశించారు. 150 మీటర్ల ఎత్తున నిర్మిస్తే మహారాష్ట్రలో పెద్దగా ముంపు ప్రభావం ఉండదని, ఎక్కడైనా ముంపు వాటిల్లితే పరిహారం చెల్లించేందుకు ప్రభుత్వం సిద్ధంగా ఉందని చెప్పారు.

మహారాష్ట్రలో బీజేపీ అధికారంలో ఉన్నందున ఆ ప్రభుత్వాన్ని ఒప్పించి తెలంగాణ ప్రయోజనాలను కాపాడాలని కోరుతూ కేంద్ర మంత్రి కిషన్ రెడ్డి గారికి వెంటనే లేఖ రాయాలని మంత్రి ఉత్తమ్ కుమార్ రెడ్డి గారికి సూచించారు.

తుమ్మిడిహెట్టి బ్యారేజీ నిర్మించాల్సిన అవసరం ఉన్నందున మహారాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వాన్ని ఒప్పించాలని కిషన్ రెడ్డి గారికి తెలంగాణ రైతుల తరఫున కూడా విజ్ఞప్తి చేయాలని చెప్పారు. ఈ సమావేశం ముగిసిన వెంటనే కిషన్ రెడ్డి గారికి లేఖ రాయాలని నిర్ణయం తీసుకున్నారు. అలాగే, రేపు కేంద్ర మంత్రి అపాయింట్మెంట్ తీసుకొని నేరుగా కలిసి చర్చించాలని కూడా చెప్పారు.

మేడిగడ్డ బ్యారేజీ పునరుద్దరణ చర్యల్లో భాగంగా చేపడుతున్న జియో టెస్టింగ్ పనులను వేగంగా పూర్తి చేయాలని ముఖ్యమంత్రి అధికారులను ఆదేశించారు. వానలు పడేలోపు పనులు పూర్తి చేయాలని మరోసారి స్పష్టం చేశారు.

The construction of the Tummidihetti barrage is set to be fast-tracked following a directive issued by Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri A. Revanth Reddy during a high-level review at MCRHRD. Emphasizing the project’s vital role in providing irrigation and drinking water to the upland regions of Adilabad, the Chief Minister, alongside Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy and other key leaders, stressed the urgency of securing the state’s water interests.

A strategic plan presented by technical experts suggests building the barrage at a height of 150 meters. This elevation is viewed as an ideal middle ground; while Maharashtra had previously agreed to 148 meters and expressed concerns regarding 152 meters, the 150-meter mark allows Telangana to utilize 100 TMC of water with minimal submergence impact. To date, approximately 11,000 crore rupees have been spent on the Pranahita-Chevella project, including 71.5 kilometers of canal work that is now ready to be utilized

​ Utilizing gravity to transfer water to the Sripada Yellampalli Reservoir was highlighted as a major benefit, as it would significantly lower operational costs. To move forward, the administration has been directed to initiate immediate diplomatic talks with Maharashtra, with the Chief Minister assuring that Telangana is fully prepared to provide compensation for any land affected by submergence.

​ To navigate the inter-state political landscape, Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy was instructed to engage Hon’ble Union Minister Kishan Reddy to mediate with the Maharashtra government. The Chief Minister plans to meet the Union Minister personally to advocate for the urgency of the project on behalf of Telangana’s farmers, ensuring that progress remains steady regardless of political alignments.

​ The meeting also addressed the necessary restoration of the Medigadda Barrage. The Chief Minister issued strict orders to accelerate ongoing geo-testing works, demanding their completion before the monsoon season begins to prevent any further delays in the project’s rehabilitation.
