భూమి కోసం, భుక్తి కోసం, వెట్టిచాకిరి విముక్తి కోసం పోరాడిన సమరయోధుడు రావి నారాయణ రెడ్డి గారికి తెలంగాణ సమాజంలో ప్రభుత్వం సముచిత స్థానం కల్పిస్తుందని ముఖ్యమంత్రి శ్రీ రేవంత్ రెడ్డి గారు హామీ ఇచ్చారు.
రావి నారాయణ రెడ్డి గారి చరిత్రను పాఠ్యాంశంగా చేర్చడం, వారి విగ్రహాన్ని ఏర్పాటు చేయడం వంటి అంశాలపై అందరితో చర్చించి, వారి గౌరవాన్ని పెంచేందుకు మంత్రిమండలిలో నిర్ణయం తీసుకుని సముచితమైన స్థానం కల్పిస్తామని వెల్లడించారు.
‘తెలంగాణ అమరవీరుల స్మారక ట్రస్టు’ ఆధ్వర్యంలో స్వాతంత్య్ర సమరయోధుడు, పద్మవిభూషణ్ ‘రావి నారాయణ రెడ్డి స్మారక జాతీయ పురస్కారం – 2025’ను ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారి చేతుల మీదుగా సుప్రీంకోర్టు మాజీ న్యాయమూర్తి జస్టిస్ సుదర్శన్ రెడ్డి గారికి అందజేశారు.
ఈ సందర్భంగా ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారు మాట్లాడుతూ, “అరాచక శక్తులకు వ్యతిరేకంగా సాయుధ రైతాంగ పోరాటంలో కీలక పాత్ర పోషించిన మహనీయుడు రావి నారాయణ రెడ్డి. భూస్వామ్య కుటుంబంలో పుట్టినా, పేద ప్రజల కోసం తన 500 ఎకరాల భూమిని దానం చేసిన గొప్ప వ్యక్తి.
‘బండెనక బండి కట్టి, పదహారు బండ్లు కట్టి’ అని తెలంగాణ సమాజాన్ని చైతన్యం చేసిన బండి యాదగిరి లాంటి నిరక్షరాస్యులను కూడా ప్రభావితం చేసిన గొప్ప నాయకుడు. దేశంలో మొట్టమొదటి ప్రధాని నెహ్రూ గారికంటే ఎక్కువ మెజారిటీతో పార్లమెంట్ సభ్యుడిగా ఎన్నికయ్యారు. ప్రజా తీర్పును ప్రతిబింబించేలా ఆనాడు మొట్టమొదటి పార్లమెంట్ భవనాన్ని రావి నారాయణ రెడ్డి గారితో నెహ్రూ గారు ప్రారంభింపజేశారు.
60 ఏళ్ల వయసులో ప్రజలకు స్ఫూర్తినిస్తూ పార్టీ, రాజకీయ పదవుల నుంచి తప్పుకున్న గొప్ప నేత రావి నారాయణ రెడ్డి. మున్సిపల్ ఎన్నికల అనంతరం రావి నారాయణ రెడ్డి గారికి సముచిత గౌరవం ఇచ్చేందుకు చేపట్టాల్సిన చర్యలు తీసుకుంటాం” అని చెప్పారు.
రావి నారాయణ రెడ్డి జాతీయ పురస్కారం జస్టిస్ బి. సుదర్శన్ రెడ్డి గారికి దక్కడం సముచితమని ముఖ్యమంత్రి రేవంత్ రెడ్డి గారు అన్నారు.
“నిర్వాహకులు సరైన సమయంలో సరైన నిర్ణయం తీసుకున్నారు. తొలితరంలో బూర్గుల రామకృష్ణారావు గారు, రావి నారాయణ రెడ్డి గారు స్ఫూర్తినిస్తే, మలితరంలో ఎస్. జైపాల్ రెడ్డి గారు, సుదర్శన్ రెడ్డి గారి వంటి వారు తెలంగాణ సమాజానికి స్ఫూర్తినిచ్చారు.
జస్టిస్ సుదర్శన్ రెడ్డి గారు తెలంగాణ సమాజానికి ఒక స్ఫూర్తిగా నిలిచారు. రాష్ట్ర ఏర్పాటు ప్రక్రియలో వారు పోషించిన పాత్ర మనందరికీ గుర్తుంది. వారి అనుభవాలు పరిపాలనలో ఉపయోగపడుతున్నాయి” అని వివరించారు.
హైదరాబాద్లోని రావి నారాయణ రెడ్డి ఆడిటోరియంలో జరిగిన ఈ కార్యక్రమంలో ట్రస్టు అధ్యక్షుడు చాడ వెంకట్ రెడ్డి గారు, కార్యదర్శి కందిమళ్ల ప్రతాప్ రెడ్డి గారితో పాటు ప్రజాప్రతినిధులు, ఇతర ప్రముఖులు పాల్గొన్నారు.
Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri A. Revanth Reddy assured that the Telangana government will accord a befitting place to Sri Ravi Narayana Reddy, the freedom fighter who fought for land, livelihood, and the welfare of marginalized communities, in Telangana society. He stated that after discussions with all stakeholders, a decision will be taken in the cabinet to include Ravi Narayana Reddy’s contributions in the curriculum and to install his statue, thereby enhancing his honor and recognizing his legacy.
The Ravi Narayana Reddy Memorial National Award – 2025, instituted by the ‘Telangana Martyrs Memorial Trust’, was presented to former Supreme Court Justice B. Sudarshan Reddy by Chief Minister Sri A. Revanth Reddy.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister said, “Ravi Narayana Reddy played a crucial role in the armed peasant struggles against oppressive forces. Despite being born into a landlord family, he donated his 500 acres of land to support the poor.
He was a leader who inspired people across Telangana, including influential grassroots activists like Bandi Yadagiri, who awakened society through his songs. Ravi Narayana Reddy served as a Member of Parliament and dedicated himself to public service.
At the age of 60, he voluntarily stepped down from party and political positions, setting an example for others. After the municipal elections, we will take the necessary steps to honor Ravi Narayana Reddy appropriately,” he added.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said that it was appropriate that the Ravi Narayana Reddy National Award was given to Justice B. Sudarshan Reddy. “The organizers have made the right decision at the right time. While leaders like Burgula Ramakrishna Rao and Ravi Narayana Reddy inspired the first generation, people like S. Jaipal Reddy and Sudarshan Reddy have continued to inspire Telangana society. Sudarshan Reddy’s contributions remain a source of guidance in governance and administration,” he explained.
The trust’s president, Chada Venkat Reddy, and secretary, Kandimalla Pratap Reddy, along with elected representatives and other prominent personalities, participated in the program held at the Ravi Narayana Reddy Auditorium in Hyderabad.
