ఇతర మతాలను కించపరిచేలా మాట్లాడితే శిక్షించే విధంగా చట్టం తెస్తామని ముఖ్యమంత్రి శ్రీ రేవంత్ రెడ్డి గారు చెప్పారు. సమాజంలో ఎవరి మతాన్ని వారు ఆచరిస్తూనే ఇతర మతాలను గౌరవించుకుంటూ శాంతిని కాపాడుకోవలసిన అవసరం ఉందని, ఇతర మతాలను కించపరిచే వారిని శిక్షించే విధంగా వచ్చే శాసనసభ సమావేశాల్లో చట్టం చేస్తామని అన్నారు.
హైదరాబాద్ ఎల్బీ స్టేడియంలో రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వం నిర్వహించిన క్రిస్మస్ వేడుకల్లో ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారు పాల్గొన్నారు. మంత్రులు, ప్రజాప్రతినిధులతో పాటు క్రిస్టియన్ పెద్దల సమక్షంలో కేక్ కట్ చేశారు. క్రిస్టియన్ సోదర, సోదరీమణులకు ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారు క్రిస్మస్ శుభాకాంక్షలు, నూతన సంవత్సర శుభాకాంక్షలు తెలియజేశారు.
ఈ సందర్భంగా ఏర్పాటు చేసిన సభలో ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారు మాట్లాడుతూ, మత ప్రాతిపదికన దాడులకు పాల్పడితే ప్రభుత్వం సహించదని స్పష్టం చేశారు. అలాంటి ఘటనలను ప్రభుత్వం కఠినంగా అణిచివేసిందని, అన్ని మతాలకు సమాన హక్కును స్వేచ్ఛను కల్పిస్తామని అన్నారు.
“శాంతిని ఇవ్వాలి, ప్రేమను పంచాలన్న ఏసు ప్రభువు ఇచ్చిన గొప్ప సందేశం స్ఫూర్తితో ప్రజా ప్రభుత్వం పనిచేస్తోంది. ఏసు ప్రభువు స్ఫూర్తితో తెలంగాణలోని 4 కోట్ల మంది ప్రజలకు శాంతిని, సంక్షేమ కార్యక్రమాలను అందిస్తోంది. మానవ సేవయే మాధవ సేవ అని భావించి ప్రేమను పంచాలని, శాంతిని పెంచాలని ఏసు క్రీస్తు చాటారు.
ఏసు క్రీస్తు జన్మించిన డిసెంబర్ నెల ప్రభువు ఆరాధకులకు మాత్రమే కాదు. తెలంగాణ ప్రజలకు, కాంగ్రెస్కు కూడా ఒక మిరకిల్ (అద్భుతమైన) మాసం. 60 ఏళ్ల తెలంగాణ ప్రజల ఆకాంక్షకు అనుకూలంగా ప్రకటన వెలువడటమే కాకుండా ప్రజా ప్రభుత్వం ఏర్పడింది కూడా డిసెంబర్ నేలలోనే.
ఎవరెన్ని విధాలుగా ఇబ్బందులు పెట్టినా, దుష్ప్రచారం చేసినా రాష్ట్రంలో శాంతిని కాపాడుతూ సంక్షేమ పథకాలను అమలు చేస్తున్నాం. గతంలో ఎప్పుడూ లేని విధంగా నిరుపేదలకు సంక్షేమ కార్యక్రమాలను అందిస్తున్నాం.
క్రిస్టియన్ మిషనరీలు విద్య, వైద్యం ప్రాధాన్యతను గుర్తించి పేదలకు ఎంతో అంకిత భావంతో, ప్రభుత్వంతో పోటీ పడి పేదలకు ఉదాత్తమైన సేవలు అందిస్తున్నాయి.
మైనారిటీలకు ప్రభుత్వం అందించే సంక్షేమం, అభివృద్ధి ఎవరి దయ కాదు. అది వారి హక్కు. ఆ హక్కులను కాపాడటానికి ప్రభుత్వం సిద్ధంగా ఉంది. క్రిస్టియన్, ముస్లిం మైనారిటీల స్మశాన వాటికల సమస్యను పరిష్కరిస్తాం. ఊరికి కొంత దూరమైనప్పటికీ స్మశాన వాటికలను ఏర్పాటు చేస్తాం.
నూతన సంవత్సరం గొప్ప మార్పును తీసుకురావాలి. తెలంగాణ రైజింగ్ 2047 తో నిర్దేశించుకుని లక్ష్యాలను సాధించడానికి, అందుకు అనుగుణంగా రాష్ట్రాన్ని అభివృద్ధిలో ముందుకు తీసుకెళతాం. అభివృద్ధి, సంక్షేమంలో తెలంగాణను దేశంలోనే రోల్ మాడల్గా నెంబర్ వన్గా తీర్చిదిద్దాలన్న లక్ష్య సాధనకు మీరందరూ ఆశీర్వాదం అందించాలి..” అని ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారు కోరారు.
ఈ క్రిస్మస్ ఉత్సవాల్లో మంత్రులు పొన్నం ప్రభాకర్ గారు, పొంగులేటి శ్రీనివాస రెడ్డి గారు, మహమ్మద్ అజారుద్దీన్ గారు, వాకిటి శ్రీహరి గారు, అడ్లూరి లక్ష్మణ్ కుమార్ గారు, ప్రభుత్వ సలహాదారులు, ఎమ్మెల్యేలు, ఎమ్మెల్సీలు, వివిధ కార్పొరేషన్ చైర్మన్లు, ఉన్నతాధికారులు, క్రిస్టియన్ మత పెద్దలు పాల్గొన్నారు.
Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri A. Revanth Reddy said that the State Government is considering appropriate legal measures to address derogatory remarks against any religion, with the objective of safeguarding mutual respect, peace, and communal harmony. He emphasized that while every individual is free to practice their own faith, equal respect for all religions is essential for maintaining social harmony. He added that the matter would be taken up in the upcoming session of the Legislative Assembly.
The Chief Minister participated in the Christmas celebrations organized by the Telangana State Government at LB Stadium, Hyderabad. On the occasion, he cut the Christmas cake in the presence of Ministers, public representatives, and Christian religious leaders, and extended Christmas and New Year greetings to Christian brothers and sisters.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister reiterated that the government would not tolerate any form of violence or hostility in the name of religion. He said such incidents have been dealt with firmly and assured that equal rights, freedom, and protection would be ensured for all religions.
He said the people’s government is inspired by the teachings of Lord Jesus Christ, which emphasize peace, love, and service to humanity. Drawing inspiration from these values, the government is implementing welfare and peace-oriented programs for the 4 crore people of Telangana, reaffirming that service to humanity is service to God.
The Chief Minister noted that December is miracle month, not only for the followers of Jesus Christ but also for the people of Telangana. He recalled that December marked both the declaration supporting Telangana’s long-standing aspirations and the formation of the people’s government.
Despite challenges and misinformation campaigns, the government continues to maintain peace in the state while effectively implementing welfare schemes. He stated that welfare programs are being delivered to the poor on a scale not witnessed earlier.
He appreciated the role of Christian missionaries for their dedicated services in the fields of education and healthcare, particularly for the underprivileged, stating that their efforts complement the government’s initiatives.
The Chief Minister asserted that welfare and development initiatives for minorities are a matter of right, not charity. He said the government remains committed to protecting these rights and will address issues related to burial grounds for Christian and Muslim minorities by establishing cemeteries, even if they are located at some distance from villages.
Looking ahead to the New Year, the Chief Minister expressed hope that it would usher in positive change. With the vision of Telangana Rising 2047, he said the government aims to achieve its development goals and make Telangana a role model and the number one state in the country in terms of development and welfare. He sought the support and blessings of all sections of society for this endeavour.
Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Mohammed Azharuddin, Vakiti Srihari, and Adluri Lakshman Kumar, along with government advisors, MLAs, MLCs, chairpersons of various corporations, senior officials, and Christian religious leaders, participated in the Christmas celebrations.
