కరవు, కాటకాలతో అల్లాడుతున్న ఉమ్మడి పాలమూరు పేదరికాన్ని పరిశీలించడానికి విదేశాల నుంచి బృందాలు వచ్చే పరిస్థితి నుంచి జిల్లాను సమున్నత స్థానంలో నిలబెట్టడం తన నైతిక ధర్మమని ముఖ్యమంత్రి శ్రీ రేవంత్ రెడ్డి గారు పేర్కొన్నారు. దశాబ్దాల కరవు, వెనుకబాటుతనం, వలసల నుంచి బయటపడేందుకు ముఖ్యమంత్రి రూపంలో దక్కిన అవకాశాన్ని సద్వినియోగం చేసుకోవాలని, విద్య, నీటి పారుదల, ఉద్యోగ ఉపాధి రంగాల్లో ఉమ్మడి పాలమూరును ఉన్నత స్థానంలో నిలబెట్టాల్సిన అవసరం ఉందన్నారు.
మహబూబ్నగర్ జిల్లా దేవరకద్ర నియోజకవర్గ పరిధిలోని వేముల గ్రామంలో ప్రఖ్యాత ఎస్జీడీ – కార్నింగ్ టెక్నాలజీస్ సంస్థ నిర్మించిన నూతన యూనిట్ను ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారు ప్రారంభించారు.
ఈ సందర్భంగా ఏర్పాటు చేసిన కార్యక్రమంలో ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారు మాట్లాడుతూ.. “రాబోయే రోజుల్లో మహబూబ్ నగర్ జిల్లాకు నూతన పరిశ్రమలకు రాబోతున్నాయి. స్థానిక యువతకే కాదు, రాష్ట్రంలో చదువుకున్న నిరుద్యోగులకు ఉద్యోగ అవకాశాలు కల్పించడానికి ఈ జిల్లా వేదిక కాబోతోంది.
పాలమూరు జిల్లా అంటే ఒకనాడు వలసలకు మారుపేరు. దేశంలో ఎక్కడ ఏమూలన ప్రాజెక్టులు కట్టినా వాటి నిర్మాణాల్లో పాలమూరు కూలీలు భాగస్వాములయ్యారు. విద్యావకాశాలు, నీటి వసతులు లేని కారణంగా పాలమూరు బిడ్డలు కూలీలుగా దేశం నలుమూలలకు వలసపోయేది.
ఉమ్మడి రాష్ట్రంలో మంజూరైన పాలమూరు రంగారెడ్డి ఎత్తిపోతల, కల్వకుర్తి ఎత్తిపోతల, జూరాల, నెట్టెంపాడు, కోయిల్సాగర్, బీమా వంటి ఏ ప్రాజెక్టులూ పూర్తికాలేదు. ఆనాడు సోనియా గాంధీ గారు పాలమూరు యూనివర్సిటీని మంజూరు చేసినా, దానికి ఇంజనీరింగ్ కాలేజీగానీ, లా కాలేజీ గానీ లేని కారణంగా అది పీజీ కాలేజీ స్థాయిలోనే మిగిలిపోయింది.
హైదరాబాద్ రాష్ట్రానికి మొదటి ముఖ్యమంత్రిగా బూర్గుల రామకృష్ణా రావు గారి తర్వాత 70 ఏండ్లకు మళ్లీ పాలమూరు బిడ్డ తెలంగాణ ముఖ్యమంత్రి అయ్యాడు. ఈనాటి అవకాశాన్ని సద్వినియోగం చేసుకోవాలి. శశభిషలకు తావులేకుండా, జిల్లాకు బాసర తర్వాత రెండో ట్రిపుల్ ఐటీని ఈ జిల్లాలో ఏర్పాటు చేశాం. ఇంజనీరింగ్, లా, మెడికల్ కాలేజీ వచ్చినా, వెనుకబడిన ఈ ప్రాంతంలో, ఇక్కడి పేద పిల్లలకు అందుబాలోకి తేవాలని ప్రయత్నిస్తున్నాం.
పాలమూరు జిల్లాలోని 14 అసెంబ్లీ నియోజకవర్గాల్లో 14 యంగ్ ఇండియా ఇంటిగ్రేటెడ్ రెసిడెన్షియల్ స్కూళ్లు మంజూరుచేశాం. మొదటి యంగ్ ఇండియా స్కూలుకు షాద్నగర్లోనే శిలాఫలకం వేశాం.
వలసలు పోయే మనం, మన తలరాతలను మార్చుకోవాలి. మన తలరాతను మార్చేది విద్య మాత్రమే. పాలమూరు జిల్లా నుంచి పిల్లలు విద్యా రంగంలో పైకి రావాలి. ఎదగాలంటే చదవాలి, చదవాలంటే వసతులు పెరగాలి. ఆ బాధ్యత నేను తీసుకుంటా. విద్యకు నిధులు అందించడంలో వెనుకడుగువేసేది లేదు.
గ్రీన్ ఛానెల్లో నిధులు కేటాయించి ప్రాజెక్టులను త్వరితగతిన పూర్తిచేయించే ప్రయత్నం చేస్తున్నాం. ఉద్ధండాపూర్, మక్తల్ నారాయణపేట్, కొడంగల్ ప్రాంతాలకు నీళ్ల కోసం 2014లోనే జీవో 69 ద్వారా ప్రాజెక్టును తెచ్చుకుంటే, గత పాలకులు పదేండ్లు ఆ ప్రాజెక్టును అడ్డుకున్నారు. ఈ ప్రాంతానికి అన్యాయం చేశారు. ఆ ప్రాజెక్టును ఇప్పుడు ముందుకు తీసకెళుతుంటే గ్రీన్ ట్రిబ్యునల్లో కేసులు వేసి అడ్డుకునే ప్రయత్నం చేస్తున్నారు.
భూములు కోల్పోతున్న రైతులకు ఇందిరమ్మ ఇండ్లు కట్టించాలి. మంత్రిగారు పది రోజులు టైమ్ తీసుకొని రైతులతో మాట్లాడాలి. భూమి కోల్పోయే ప్రతి రైతును పిలిచి మాట్లాడాలి. వారికి న్యాయం చేద్దాం. కలెక్టర్ ద్వారా అండర్ టేకింగ్ ఇప్పించాలి. పాలమూరు రైతాంగానికి నష్టం జరిగితే నాకు, నా మంత్రులు, ఎమ్మెల్యేలకు నష్టం జరిగినట్లే. మీకు న్యాయం చేసే బాధ్యత నాది.
నారాయణపేట్, మహబూబ్నగర్ జిల్లాల కలెక్టర్లకు సూచన, రైతులను కార్యాలయాలకు పిలవడం కాదు. అధికారులే క్షేత్రస్థాయికి వెళ్లి రైతులను కలవాలి. రైతులతో మాట్లాడి ఒప్పించండి. మంచి నష్టపరిహారం ఇచ్చి ఒప్పించండి. నిధులకు ఇబ్బంది ఉన్నప్పటికీ పాలమూరు జిల్లా ప్రత్యేక పరిస్థితుల దృష్ట్యా నిధులు అందిస్తున్నాం.
బ్రహ్మోస్ మిస్సైల్ ఇక్కడ ఉత్పత్తి చేస్తే, మన పిల్లలకు ఉద్యోగాలు వస్తాయి. రెసిడెన్షియల్ స్కూళ్లతోపాటు, ఏటీసీలు అందుబాటులోకి తెచ్చి, యువతకు నైపుణ్యాలు నేర్పిస్తున్నాం. పాలమూరు జిల్లాలోని 14 నియోజకవర్గాల్లో ఏటీసీలు ఉండాల్సిందే. తద్వారా యువతకు ఉద్యోగ ఉపాధి అవకాశాలు కల్పించాలి.
పాలమూరు పేదరికాన్ని ప్రదర్శనగా చూపడం కాదు. ఇక్కడి అభివృద్దిని, విద్యా సంస్థలను, సాగునీటి ప్రాజెక్టులను చూడటానికి విదేశీ బృందాలు రావాలి. ఇక్కడి పరిశ్రమలు స్థానికులకే కాదు, ఇతర రాష్ట్రాల వారికీ ఉపాధి కల్పించే స్థాయికి ఎదగాలి. ఈరోజు ఎస్జీడీ – కార్నింగ్ సంస్థ అమెరికా, జర్మనీ దేశాల జాయింట్ వెంచర్. ఇలాంటి సంస్థలు మరిన్ని ఈ ప్రాంతాని రావాలి.
ఎయిర్ పోర్టుకు దగ్గరగా ఉన్న మహబూబ్నగర్ జిల్లాలో డ్రైపోర్టు ఏర్పాటును పరిగణలోకి తీసుకుంటాం. హైదరాబాద్ – బెంగళూరు డిఫెన్స్ కారిడార్గా తీర్చిదిద్దుదాం. పరిశ్రమల కోసం అందుబాటులో ఉన్న భూముల వివరాలు కలెక్టర్లు సేకరించి ఇస్తే, ఏ కొత్త పరిశ్రమ వచ్చినా పాలమూరులోనే నెలకొల్పే ప్రయత్నం చేస్తాను” అని అన్నారు.
ఈ కార్యక్రమంలో మంత్రులు జూపల్లి కృష్ణారావు గారు, వాకిటి శ్రీహరి గారు, ప్రణాళికా సంఘం వైస్ చైర్మన్ జి. చిన్నారెడ్డి గారు, లోక్సభ సభ్యుడు డాక్టర్ మల్లు రవి గారు, ఉమ్మడి జిల్లాకు చెందిన ఎమ్మెల్సీలు, ఎమ్మెల్యేలు ఇతర ప్రజా ప్రతినిధులు పాల్గొన్నారు.
Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri A. Revanth Reddy said it is his moral duty to elevate Palamuru, which has long faced drought and cyclones, at a time when teams from abroad are coming to inspect the district’s development. He emphasized the need to utilize the opportunity presented by his leadership to overcome decades of drought, backwardness, and migration, and to advance Palamuru in the fields of education, irrigation, and employment.
The Chief Minister inaugurated a new unit of the renowned SGD-Corning Technologies in Vemula village under Devarakadra constituency of Mahabubnagar district. Speaking at the event, he said, “In the coming days, new industries will come to Mahabubnagar district. This district will serve as a platform to provide employment opportunities not only to local youth but also to educated unemployed across the state.”
Palamuru was once synonymous with migration. Its laborers contributed to construction projects nationwide, yet due to the lack of education and water facilities, Palamuru children were forced to migrate as laborers. Several major projects sanctioned in the united state, including Palamuru Rangareddy Lift Irrigation, Kalvakurthi Lift Irrigation, Jurala, Nettempadu, Koilsagar, and Bima, remained incomplete. Although Palamuru University was sanctioned during Sonia Gandhi’s tenure, it lacked engineering and law colleges and functioned only at the PG level.
After Burgula Ramakrishna Rao, a native of Palamuru became the Chief Minister of the erstwhile Hyderabad state, and after 70 years, the district again has a leader from its own soil. Taking advantage of this opportunity, the government has set up the second Triple IT hub in the district after Basara. Efforts are underway to make engineering, law, and medical colleges accessible to students from this backward region.
Fourteen Young India Integrated Residential Schools have been sanctioned across all assembly constituencies of Palamuru, with the foundation stone for the first school laid at Shadnagar.
Chief Minister Reddy emphasized that education is the key to changing the destiny of Palamuru. Children must have access to quality education and facilities to succeed, and the government is committed to providing necessary funds without hesitation.
Projects are being expedited by allocating funds through the Green Channel. Water supply projects for Uddhandapur, Maktal Narayanpet, and Kodangal, originally proposed under GO 69 in 2014 but delayed for ten years by previous administrations, are now being advanced despite attempts to block them in the Green Tribunal.
Indiramma houses will be built for farmers losing their lands. Officials must visit the fields and meet farmers personally, providing fair compensation and ensuring justice. The Chief Minister underlined that any loss to Palamuru farmers is equivalent to a loss to him, his ministers, and MLAs, and it is his responsibility to ensure justice.
The government is also creating employment opportunities through BrahMos missile production, residential schools, and ATCs, which will provide skill training to youth across all 14 constituencies.
Palamuru’s progress, not its poverty, should attract attention. Foreign teams should witness the district’s development, educational institutions, and irrigation projects. Industries in the region should grow to provide employment not only locally but also to people from other states. SGD-Corning, a US-Germany joint venture, is a model, and more such companies are being encouraged to invest in Palamuru.
Plans are underway to establish a dry port in Mahabubnagar, near the airport, and develop the region as part of the Hyderabad-Bangalore defense corridor. The Chief Minister said that details of available industrial lands collected by the collectors will be used to establish new industries in Palamuru.
Ministers Jupally Krishna Rao, Vakiti Srihari, Planning Commission Vice Chairman G. Chinna Reddy, Lok Sabha member Dr. Mallu Ravi, MLCs, MLAs, and other public representatives from the joint district participated in the program.
