లోక్సభ నియోజకవర్గాల పునర్విభజనలో ఉత్తర, దక్షిణ రాష్ట్రాల మధ్య అంతరాన్ని మరింతగా పెంచే ప్రయత్నాలను విరమించుకోవాలని ముఖ్యమంత్రి శ్రీ రేవంత్ రెడ్డి గారు పేర్కొన్నారు. ప్రస్తుతం రాష్ట్రాల వారిగా ఉన్న లోక్సభ స్థానాల నిష్పత్తిలోనే నియోజకవర్గాలను పెంచాలని సూచించారు.
ప్రస్తుతం ఉన్న స్థానాలకు 50 శాతం సీట్లు పెంచుతూ లోక్సభ నియోజకవర్గాల పునర్విభజన ప్రక్రియ చేపడితే, రేపటి రోజున జాతీయ రాజకీయాల్లో దక్షిణాది రాష్ట్రాల పాత్ర ఉండదని విశ్లేషించారు. కేంద్రంలో ప్రభుత్వాన్ని ఏర్పాటు చేయడంలో దక్షిణాది రాష్ట్రాల ప్రమేయం లేకుండా పోతుందని అభ్యంతరం వ్యక్తం చేశారు.
టీవీ9 నెట్వర్క్ ఆధ్వర్యంలో ‘భారతదేశం – ప్రపంచం’ అన్న ఇతివృత్తంపై “వాట్ ఇండియా థింక్స్ టుడే” సమ్మిట్ 2026 లో ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారు పాల్గొన్నారు. ఈ సందర్భంగా నియోజకవర్గాల పునర్విభజన, మూసీ నది ప్రక్షాళన, తెలంగాణ విజన్ 2047, పరిపాలన, రాజకీయ స్థితిగతులపై అడిగిన పలు ప్రశ్నలకు సమాధానాలు చెప్పారు.
లోక్సభ నియోజకవర్గాల పునర్విభజనలో 50 శాతం మేరకు సీట్లను పెంచాలన్న నిర్ణయం ఏ ప్రాతిపదికన చేశారని ప్రశ్నించారు. ఈ ప్రక్రియ వల్ల ఉత్తర, దక్షిణ రాష్ట్రాల మధ్య అంతరాన్ని పెంచుతుందని ఆందోళన వ్యక్తం చేశారు.
ఈ అంశంపై తొలుత అఖిల పక్ష సమావేశం నిర్వహించి అందరి అభిప్రాయం మేరకు మార్గదర్శకాలు రూపొందించాల్సిందని అన్నారు. అలా కాకుండా ముందే నిర్ణయం తీసుకుని, తర్వాత అందరి అభిప్రాయాలు అడగడటం సమంజసం కాదన్నారు.
కేంద్రం, రాష్ట్రాల మధ్య సుహృద్భావ వాతావరణం ఉండాలనే మేం కోరుకుంటున్నామని చెప్పారు. ఉత్తరాదిలోని పెద్ద రాష్ట్రాలే కేంద్రంలో ప్రభుత్వాలను ఏర్పాటు చేయగలుగుతాయని, దక్షిణాది రాష్ట్రాలు వివక్షకు గురికావడమే కాకుండా తీరని నష్టం జరుగుతుందని అన్నారు.
మంచి ఎక్కడున్నా స్వీకరిస్తామని, ప్రధానమంత్రి నరేంద్ర మోదీ గారు హైదరాబాద్కు మూడు బుల్లెట్ ట్రెయిన్లు ఇచ్చినందుకు వారికి కృతజ్ఞతలు చెప్పానని గుర్తుచేశారు. దేశంలో గ్యాస్, పెట్రోల్ కొరత సమస్యను ఎదుర్కొనడానికి కార్యాచరణ ప్రకటించాలని కోరారు.
Preserving national integrity and upholding the federal spirit must remain the top priorities during the Lok Sabha constituency delimitation process, stated Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri A. Revanth Reddy at the “What India Thinks Today” Summit 2026. He emphasized that the exercise should be handled with care to prevent widening disparities between Northern and Southern states or deepening regional imbalances, which are vital for maintaining the country’s democratic fabric.
The Summit, organized by the TV9 Network under the theme “India – The World,” provided a platform for the Chief Minister to address a wide range of issues. He spoke on constituency delimitation, Musi River rejuvenation, Telangana Vision 2047, governance, and the current political landscape, highlighting a strategic roadmap for state development alongside national stability.
On delimitation, the Chief Minister underscored that an all-party meeting should have been convened from the outset to establish guidelines based on broad consensus. Decisions taken unilaterally, and opinions sought only afterward, he noted, undermine democratic principles. He stressed that a cooperative and harmonious relationship between the Centre and the States is essential for effective and inclusive governance.
Regarding proposals to increase Lok Sabha seats by 50 percent, he cautioned that such a change could disrupt the balance of representation if not done proportionally. He expressed concern that Southern states could be marginalized in national politics, reducing their influence in forming governments at the Centre.
While emphasizing accountability and fairness, the Chief Minister also reaffirmed Telangana’s willingness to support initiatives that benefit the people, regardless of the source. He recalled expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for sanctioning three bullet trains to Hyderabad and urged the Union Government to present a clear action plan to address pressing issues such as gas and petrol shortages.
Chief Minister Sri A. Revanth Reddy concluded by calling for a transparent, inclusive, and proportionate delimitation process that safeguards the federal balance, strengthens national unity, and ensures equitable representation for all regions across India.
