ఒకవైపు సంక్షేమ పథకాలు, మరోవైపు అభివృద్ధి కార్యక్రమాలు చేపడుతూ విధ్వంసమైన తెలంగాణను వికాసం వైపు నడిపిస్తున్నామని ముఖ్యమంత్రి శ్రీ ఎ. రేవంత్ రెడ్డి గారు స్పష్టం చేశారు. ప్రజాపాలన – ప్రగతి బాట కార్యక్రమంలో భాగంగా ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారు సిరిసిల్ల పట్టణంలో ఏర్పాటు చేసిన బహిరంగ సభలో ప్రసంగించారు.

సిరిసిల్ల నేతన్నల ప్రాశస్త్యాన్ని ఈ సందర్భంగా వివరించారు. “మనిషి నాగరికత వస్త్రంతో ప్రారంభమైంది. అలాంటి వస్త్ర పరిశ్రమకు సిరిసిల్ల అడ్డా. చేనేత కార్మికులకు, చేతివృత్తులకు ఇది ప్రధాన కేంద్రం.
అగ్గిపెట్టెలో చీరను మడతపెట్టే నైపుణ్యం ఇక్కడి నేత కార్మికుల ప్రత్యేకత. ప్రపంచంలోనే గొప్ప గుర్తింపు తెచ్చిన నైపుణ్యం కలిగిన చేనేత సోదరులు ఈ ప్రాంతంలో ఉన్నారు. చేనేత మగ్గాల నుండి సాంచాల వరకు వేలాది కుటుంబాలు ఈ పరిశ్రమను నమ్ముకొని జీవనం సాగిస్తున్నారు” అని చెప్పారు.
ఈ ప్రాంతం నుంచి గల్ఫ్ వలస కార్మికులు ఎక్కువగా ఉన్నారని గుర్తుచేస్తూ, గల్ఫ్ దేశాల్లో ప్రమాదవశాత్తు కార్మికులు ఎవరైనా మరణిస్తే వారి కుటుంబాలను ఆదుకోవడానికి రూ. 5 లక్షల చొప్పున ఆర్థిక సహాయం అందించే ప్రత్యేక విధానం అమలు చేస్తున్నామని చెప్పారు.
అభివృద్ధి కార్యక్రమాలు చేపడుతూనే సంక్షేమం కోసం రేషన్ కార్డు జారీ, సన్నబియ్యం పంపిణీ, ఇందిరమ్మ ఇళ్ల నిర్మాణం, 200 యూనిట్ల వరకు ఉచిత విద్యుత్, 2 లక్షల వరకు రుణమాఫీ, రైతు భరోసా, ఫీజు రీయింబర్స్ మెంట్ వంటి కొనసాగిస్తున్న పథకాలను ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారు వివరించారు.
చేనేత రంగానికి గత పదేళ్లలో రూ. 2,234 కోట్లు ఖర్చు చేస్తే, ప్రజాప్రభుత్వం ఏర్పడిన తర్వాత గడిచిన రెండున్నరేళ్లలో రూ. 1,751 కోట్లు ఖర్చు పెట్టామని చెప్పారు. ఈ సందర్భంగా నేరెళ్ల బాధితులకు ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారు ఆర్థిక సహాయాన్ని అందజేశారు.
ఈ బహిరంగ సభలో మంత్రులు దుద్దిళ్ల శ్రీధర్ బాబు గారు, తుమ్మల నాగేశ్వర రావు గారు, పొన్నం ప్రభాకర్ గారు, అడ్లూరి లక్ష్మణ్ కుమార్ గారు, మహమ్మద్ అజారుద్దీన్ గారు, విప్ ఆది శ్రీనివాస్ గారితో పాటు ప్రభుత్వ సలహాదారులు, ఎంపీలు, ఎమ్మెల్సీలు, ఎమ్మెల్యేలు, ఇతర ప్రజాప్రతినిధులు పాల్గొన్నారు.
Combining welfare and development programmes, the People’s Government is taking Telangana forward on the path of development, Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri A. Revanth Reddy said. He was addressing a public meeting in Sircilla as part of the Praja Palana – Pragathi Baata programme.
Highlighting Sircilla’s rich handloom heritage, the Hon’ble Chief Minister said thousands of families depend on the textile industry for their livelihood and noted the globally recognised skills of the region’s weavers.
He said a special policy is being implemented to provide ₹5 lakh financial assistance to the families of Telangana workers who die accidentally in Gulf countries.
The welfare initiatives being continued include ration cards, fine rice distribution, Indiramma houses, free electricity up to 200 units, loan waiver up to ₹2 lakh, Rythu Bharosa and fee reimbursement.
While ₹2,234 crore was spent on the handloom sector in the previous ten years, ₹1,751 crore has been spent in the last two-and-a-half years under the People’s Government, the Hon’ble Chief Minister said. Financial assistance was also provided to the Nerella victims.
Ministers Duddilla Sridhar Babu, Tummala Nageswara Rao, Ponnam Prabhakar, Adluri Laxman Kumar and Mohammed Azharuddin, Government Whip Adi Srinivas, Government Advisors, MPs, MLCs, MLAs and other public representatives participated.
