Telangana Film Development Corporation Limited (TGFDCL)” was formed consequent to the bifurcation of the state of Andhra Pradesh into the states of Andhra Pradesh & Telangana. In pursuance of G.O. Ms. No. 167, the TGFDCL was incorporated as a Company within the meaning of Sec 2(68) of the Companies Act, 2013 domiciled in India and incorporated on 01.09.2017 under the provisions of the Companies Act 2013, with an objective to develop the film industry and to carry on the business of Cinematograph trade and industry.

01. Production of short films and video spots
The Government has directed all the Departments of the Secretariat and all heads of Departments/Corporations/ Autonomous bodies to take up the Production of documentary films of their schemes and programs invariably through Telangana Film Development Corporation Limited, Hyderabad.
Accordingly, the Corporation is producing short films and video spots on Government welfare schemes and developmental activities and releases the same through cinema theatres and various media outlets to create awareness among the public.
02. NOC to Cinema theatres
The Corporation is issuing “No Objection Certificate to the cinema theatres in the State to obtain License/renewals of B Form licenses by licensing authorities i.e., Police Commissioners in Hyderabad, Cyberabad, Rachakonda, and Commissioner of Police/ Joint Collector in the Districts.
03. Scholarships to Students
The Corporation is sanctioning an amount of Rs. 20,000/- (Rupees twenty thousand only) to each student per year towards scholarships to the students hailing from the Telangana State studying in the Film and Television Institutes of India located at Pune and Chennai.
04. The hiring of Preview Theatre
A 35-seater capacity preview theatre with the latest Projection facilities are available with the Corporation for the benefit of various Film Producers and others for Censor approvals and other Screenings on hire basis.
05. Renewal of Infrastructural Units
The Corporation is registering the Infrastructural Units (viz., Studios, Editing Rooms, Recording & Dubbing Studios & Outdoor Units etc.,).
06. International Children Film Festivals
The Corporation has successfully conducted the 20th International Children’s Film Festival 2017 at Hyderabad, Telangana from 8th to 14th November, 2017 in collaboration with the Government of India and Children’s Film Society, India, Mumbai. The Children’s films were screened in 50 theatres (around) Hyderabad and other Districts in Telangana.
07. Single Window online shooting permissions
The Government has issued orders to mandate the film shooting application submission only through Online Portal.
The Government has categorized the shooting locations as Green Zone, Yellow Zone, and Red Zone.
- Green Zone: Permission without timings and day of the week restriction.
- Yellow Zone: Permission with timings and day of the week restriction.
- Red Zone: No permission.
Each department shall nominate Nodal Officer with contact details for operating the online system for giving requisite permissions within 7 days as well as liaisoning with Telangana State Film Development Corporation and the Film Shooting crew. The Caution Deposit amount collected from the production agencies will be refunded through online to the producers after the completion of the film shooting.
08. Telangana Gaddar Film Awards (TGFA)
The Corporation has successfully conducted “Telangana Gaddar Film Awards (TGFA)” function on 14.06.2025, for which the Hon’ble Chief Minister along with Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister and Hon’ble Minister for Cinematography has presented the awards to best films, books, individual awards for artists and technicians and also Special Awards.
