ముఖ్యమంత్రి శ్రీ ఎ. రేవంత్ రెడ్డి గారు మంత్రి దుద్దిళ్ల శ్రీధర్ బాబు గారితో కలిసి లండన్లోని ప్రసిద్ధ అంబేద్కర్ హౌస్ను సందర్శించారు.
బాబాసాహెబ్ డాక్టర్ బీఆర్ అంబేద్కర్ గారు 1921-22లో లండన్లోని ప్రిమ్రోజ్ ప్రాంతంలోని 10 కింగ్ హెన్రీ’స్ రోడ్లో నివసించారు. ఆ చారిత్రక ఇంటిని ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారు దర్శించుకున్నారు.
“మహనీయులు డాక్టర్ అంబేద్కర్ గారి హౌస్ను సందర్శించడం ఒక ఆధ్యాత్మిక క్షేత్రాన్ని సందర్శించడం లాంటిది. ఇది జీవితకాలపు స్ఫూర్తినిస్తుంది. సామాజిక న్యాయం కోసం అంకితభావంతో పనిచేయాలన్న నా ఆకాంక్ష మరింత పెరిగింది” అని ముఖ్యమంత్రి రేవంత్ రెడ్డి గారు సందర్శకుల డైరీలో రాశారు.
అంబేద్కర్ హౌస్ను ప్రస్తుతం డాక్టర్ అంబేద్కర్ గారి ఆశయాలకు అంకితమైన మ్యూజియంగా ఏర్పాటు చేశారు. రాజ్యాంగబద్ధత, సమానత్వం, కులరహిత సమాజం, అణచివేత లేని సమాజం, సామాజిక న్యాయానికి అత్యున్నత ప్రాధాన్యత ఇవ్వడం వంటి ఆయన సిద్ధాంతాలను ఈ మ్యూజియం ప్రతిబింబిస్తుంది.
దాదాపు గంటపాటు సాగిన పర్యటనలో అంబేద్కర్ మ్యూజియం ఏర్పాటులో కీలక పాత్ర పోషించిన యాంటీ కాస్ట్ డిస్క్రిమినేషన్ అలయన్స్ (ACDA) చైర్ శ్రీమతి సంతోష్ దాస్ MBE, యూకేలో బాబాసాహెబ్ జీవితానికి సంబంధించిన వివిధ అంశాలను ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారికి వివరించారు.
పర్యటన పూర్తయిన అనంతరం ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారు మాట్లాడుతూ.. “నా జీవితంలో ఇది గొప్ప క్షణాల్లో ఒకటి. భారతీయుల్లో గొప్ప వ్యక్తుల్లో ఒకరైన బాబాసాహెబ్ డాక్టర్ బీఆర్ అంబేద్కర్ గారి జీవితంలోని వ్యక్తిగత కోణాన్ని చూసి, ఆయనతో ముడిపడిన వస్తువులను తాకగలగడం ఎంతో గొప్ప అనుభూతి” అని అన్నారు.
Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri A. Revanth Reddy and IT & Industries Minister Sri D. Sridhar Babu visited the historic Ambedkar House in London.
Babasaheb Dr B.R. Ambedkar lived at the now globally renowned 10 King Henry’s Road in Primrose Hill, London, during 1921–22 while pursuing his studies at the London School of Economics.
“Visiting Dr Ambedkar House is like a pilgrimage. The inspiration is for a lifetime. I feel renewed dedication for social justice,” Chief Minister Revanth Reddy wrote in the visitors’ diary.
Ambedkar House has been transformed into a museum dedicated to the ideals and legacy of Dr B.R. Ambedkar — constitutionalism, equality, a casteless and oppression-free society, and the supremacy of social justice. The museum preserves photographs, writings and personal belongings associated with Babasaheb.
During the hour-long visit, Ms Santosh Dass MBE, Chair of the Anti-Caste Discrimination Alliance (ACDA), who played a pivotal role in establishing the Ambedkar Museum, explained various aspects of Dr Ambedkar’s life and his time in the United Kingdom.
After completing the tour, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy remarked: “It has been one of life’s great moments to be able to see and touch a personal aspect of one of the greatest Indians ever born.”
