సౌదీ అరేబియా మదీనా సమీపంలో బస్సు ప్రమాదంలో మరణించిన కుటుంబాలకు ముఖ్యమంత్రి శ్రీ రేవంత్ రెడ్డి గారి చేతుల మీదుగా పరిహారం అందించారు. డాక్టర్ బీఆర్ అంబేద్కర్ రాష్ట్ర సచివాలయంలో ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారు వారికి చెక్కులను అందించారు. బాధిత కుటుంబాలకు ప్రభుత్వం అండగా ఉంటుందని, అందుకే అందర్నీ సచివాలయానికి పిలిచి పరిహారం అందించామని చెప్పారు.
ఈ ప్రభుత్వం మీది. ఎటువంటి ఆందోళన చెందాల్సిన అవసరం లేదని, అండగా ఉంటామని ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారు బాధిత కుటుంబాలకు భరోసా ఇచ్చారు. ప్రమాదం జరిగినట్లు తెలుసుకున్న వెంటనే మంత్రి అజహరుద్దీన్ గారి నేతృత్వంలోని ప్రతినిధి బృందాన్ని మదీనాకు పంపామని గుర్తుచేశారు.
చనిపోయిన వారి కుటుంబ సభ్యులకు తక్షణమే పాస్పోర్టులు, వీసాలు ఇప్పించి మదీనా పంపించామన్నారు. అక్కడి భారత్ కాన్సులేట్, సౌదీ ప్రభుత్వంతో చర్చించి మృతిచెందిన వారి అంత్యక్రియలు జన్నుతుల్ బఖీలో చేయించిన విషయాలను గుర్తుచేశారు.
నవంబర్ 17, 2025 న మదీనా సమీపంలో జరిగిన ఘోర బస్సు ప్రమాదంలో 44 మంది హైదరాబాద్ వాసులు సజీవదహనమైన విషయం తెలిసిందే. బాధిత కుటుంబాలకు రూ. 5 లక్షలు చొప్పున, గాయపడిన ఒకరి కుటుంబానికి రూ. 3 లక్షల పరిహారం అందించారు.
దేశం బయట జరిగే ప్రమాదాల్లో మృతిచెందిన వారికి ప్రభుత్వాలు పరిహారం చెల్లించే విధానం లేనప్పటికీ, ప్రభుత్వం మానవతా దృక్పథంతో సహాయం అందించాలని నిర్ణయం తీసుకున్నామని ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారు చెప్పారు. ఇటీవల నాంపల్లి అగ్నిప్రమాదంలో మృతిచెందిన వారి కుటుంబాలకు పరిహారం చెల్లించామన్నారు.
ముస్లిం సోదరులతో తనకున్న అనుబంధాన్ని ముఖ్యమంత్రి రేవంత్ రెడ్డి ఈ సందర్బంగా గుర్తు చేసుకున్నారు. తాను కొడంగల్ ఎమ్మెల్యేగా ఎన్నికైన 2009 సంవత్సరం నుంచి నియోజకవర్గంలోని అయిదు మండలాల నుంచి ఒకొక్కరి చొప్పున ఏటా అయిదుగురిని తన సొంత ఖర్చులతో హజ్ యాత్రకు పంపుతున్నానని చెప్పారు. వారిని ఎంపిక చేసే బాధ్యత స్థానిక ముస్లిం మత పెద్దలకే అప్పజెప్పానన్నారు.
కార్యక్రమంలో రాష్ట్ర మైనారిటీ సంక్షేమ శాఖ మంత్రి అజారుద్దీన్ గారు, ప్రభుత్వ సలహాదారులు వేం నరేందర్ రెడ్డి గారు, మహమ్మద్ షబ్బీర్ అలీ గారు, నాంపల్లి ఎమ్మెల్యే మాజీద్ హుస్సేన్ గారు, హజ్ కమిటీ ఛైర్మన్ ఖుస్రో పాషా గారు, తెలంగాణ మైనారిటీస్ రెసిడెన్షియల్ ఎడ్యుకేషనల్ ఇన్స్టిట్యూషన్స్ సొసైటీ (TGMREIS) వైస్ ఛైర్మన్ ఫహీం ఖురేషి గారు, రాష్ట్ర మైనార్టీ ఫైనాన్స్ కార్పొరేషన్ ఛైర్మన్ ఒబేదుల్లా కొత్వాల్ గారు పాల్గొన్నారు.
Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri A. Revanth Reddy handed over ex gratia compensation to the families of those who lost their lives in the bus accident near Medina in Saudi Arabia. The Hon’ble Chief Minister presented compensation cheques to the affected families at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar State Secretariat and assured them of the government’s continued support during this difficult time.
Stating that this is their government, the Hon’ble Chief Minister reassured the bereaved families that there is no need for concern and affirmed that the government would stand firmly by them. He recalled that immediately after receiving information about the accident, a delegation led by Minister Mohammad Azharuddin was deputed to Medina. Passports and visas were arranged on priority for the family members of the deceased to enable their travel, and in coordination with the Indian Consulate and Saudi authorities, the last rites of the victims were conducted at Jannatul Baqi.
It may be recalled that 44 residents of Hyderabad lost their lives in the tragic bus accident near Medina on November 17, 2025. An ex gratia of Rs. 5 lakh each was extended to the families of the deceased, while Rs. 3 lakh was sanctioned to the family of an injured victim.
The Hon’ble Chief Minister stated that although there is no established policy for providing compensation in cases of deaths occurring outside the country, the government decided to extend assistance on humanitarian grounds. He also noted that compensation had recently been extended to families affected by the Nampally fire accident.
Recalling his long-standing association with the Muslim community, the Hon’ble Chief Minister said that since being elected as MLA from Kodangal in 2009, he has been sponsoring the Hajj pilgrimage every year for five persons — one from each mandal of the constituency — at his personal expense, with the selection entrusted to local Muslim religious leaders.
State Minority Welfare Minister Mohammad Azharuddin, Government Advisors Vem Narender Reddy and Mohammed Shabbir Ali, Nampally MLA Majid Hussain, Haj Committee Chairman Khusro Pasha, Telangana Minorities Residential Educational Institutions Society TGMREIS Vice Chairman Fahim Qureshi, and State Minority Finance Corporation Chairman Obedullah Kotwal attended the programme.
