Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri A. Revanth Reddy laid the foundation stone for the ₹200-crore National Institute of Urban Management (NIUM) campus at Bharat Future City. The government has allotted 20 acres for the project.
Selected in 2009 under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM), the NIUM project remained delayed for years due to the non-allotment of land. The State Government has now allocated 20 acres in Future City for the institute.
NIUM will serve as an action-oriented research institution supporting urban policy formulation in Telangana. The Chief Minister directed officials to complete the campus by June 2, 2028, and inaugurate it on Telangana State Formation Day.
Public representatives and senior officials attended the foundation stone laying ceremony at the Future City Development Authority (FCDA) premises.
Earlier, the Chief Minister inspected the ongoing construction of buildings at Young India Skills University (YISU) and the surrounding area, and advised officials on the progress of the works.
