“హైదరాబాద్ నగరంలో రోడ్లను విస్తరించుకుందాం. చెరువులను పునరుద్ధరించుకుందాం. నాలాల ఆక్రమణలను తొలగించుకుందాం. పిల్లలకు క్రీడా మైదానాలు కట్టుకుందాం. అభివృద్ధి చెందుతున్న ఒక మంచి నగరంగా అభివృద్ధి చేసుకుందాం..” అని ముఖ్యమంత్రి శ్రీ రేవంత్ రెడ్డి గారు పిలుపునిచ్చారు.
కూకట్పల్లిలో హైడ్రా HYDRAA పునరుద్ధరించిన నల్లచెరువును ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారు ప్రారంభించారు. చెరువులో గంగమ్మతల్లికి హారతినిచ్చి ప్రత్యేక పూజలు నిర్వహించారు. పట్టు వస్త్రాలు, పసుపు కుంకుమ సమర్పించారు. ఈ సందర్భంగా స్థానికులతో ఏర్పాటు చేసిన సభలో మాట్లాడారు.
“దేశంలోని మెట్రో నగరాల్లో హైదరాబాద్ అత్యంత సురక్షితమైన నగరం. అయితే, ఆక్రమణలు తొలగించి, కాలుష్యం నివారించి మూసీ నదిని పునరుద్ధరించుకోవలసిన అవసరం ఉంది. లేదంటే భవిష్యత్ తరాలు మనల్ని క్షమించవు.
హైడ్రాను ఏర్పాటు చేసినప్పుడు, హైడ్రా పనులు ప్రారంభించినప్పుడు చాలా మంది నాపై విమర్శలు చేశారు. ఇందులో నాకెలాంటి దురుద్దేశం లేదు. నల్లచెరువును పునరుద్ధరించిన తర్వాత వేలాది మంది మొహాల్లో ఆనందం చూసినప్పుడు సంతోషం కలిగింది.
పునరుద్ధరించిన చెరువు పార్కుల చుట్టూ వ్యాపార కేంద్రాలను ఏర్పాటు చేద్దాం. స్టాల్స్ పెట్టాలి. పిల్లలు ఆడుకోవడానికి స్థలాల్లేవు. చెరువుల ఒడ్డున ఆటస్థలాలను ఏర్పాటు చేసుకోవాలి. ఈ ప్రాంతంలో ఉన్న చెరువులన్నింటినీ పునరుద్ధరించుకుందాం.
ఇలాంటి పనులు చేసుకునప్పుడు నిజంగానే కొందరికి నష్టం కలిగి ఉండొచ్చు. పేదవారు ఎవరికీ అన్యాయం చేయను. అలాంటి వారికి డబుల్ బెడ్రూం ఇండ్లను సిద్ధం చేశాం. నిజంగా నష్టం జరిగిన వారికి నష్టపరిహారం ఇచ్చి ఆదుకుందాం.
నిధులు విడుదల చేయడానికి సిద్ధంగా ఉన్నా. ఈ ప్రాంతాన్ని బ్రహ్మాండంగా అభివృద్ధి చేసుకోవాలి. ఈ ప్రాంతాన్ని రాజకీయాలకు అతీతంగా అభివృద్ధి చేద్దాం.
అహ్మదాబాద్లో సబర్మతీ రివర్ ఫ్రంట్, ఢిల్లీలో యమునా రివర్ ఫ్రంట్, యూపీలో గంగానది రివర్ ఫ్రంట్ నిర్మించుకుని ఆ నగరాలను అభివృద్ధి చేసుకున్నప్పుడు మనమెందుకు మూసీని ప్రక్షాళన చేయకూడదు” అని ప్రశ్నించారు.
ఈ కార్యక్రమంలో సీఎం మాజీ సలహాదారు వేం నరేందర్ రెడ్డి గారు, పీఏసీ చైర్మన్ ఆరికెపూడి గాంధీ గారు, ఎమ్మెల్యేలు మాధవరం కృష్ణారావు గారు, రామచంద్రు నాయక్ గారు, ఎమ్మెల్సీ నవీన్ రావు గారితో పాటు మున్సిపల్ కార్పొరేషన్ల కమిషనర్లు, ఇతర ఉన్నతాధికారులు పాల్గొన్నారు.
“Let us widen the roads in Hyderabad city, restore the tanks, remove canal encroachments, create playgrounds for children and develop Hyderabad into a better, progressive city,” said Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri A. Revanth Reddy.
The Chief Minister inaugurated the renovated Nallacheruvu restored by HYDRAA at Kukatpally. On the occasion, special pujas were performed and aarti was offered to Goddess Gangamma at the tank. Silk clothes and turmeric were ceremonially offered. The Chief Minister also addressed a gathering of local residents.
“Hyderabad is among the safest metropolitan cities in the country. However, there is a need to remove encroachments, control pollution and restore the Musi River. Otherwise, future generations will not forgive us,” he said.
The Chief Minister noted that when HYDRAA was established and restoration works began, there was criticism from some quarters. “I had no ill intentions. Seeing the happiness on the faces of thousands of people after the restoration of Nallacheruvu gives me immense satisfaction,” he said.
He suggested developing business centres and small stalls around the restored lake parks to create livelihood opportunities. Noting the lack of open spaces for children, he called for the development of playgrounds along the tank bunds and the restoration of other water bodies in the area.
The Chief Minister said that while such development works may cause inconvenience to some people, the government would ensure justice to all. He assured that double bedroom houses and appropriate compensation would be provided to genuinely affected families.
He reiterated that the government is ready to allocate funds for the development of the area and called for collective efforts beyond political differences to transform the locality.
Referring to successful riverfront developments such as the Sabarmati Riverfront, the Yamuna Riverfront and the Ganga Riverfront, the Chief Minister said similar efforts should be made to clean and rejuvenate the Musi River.
Vem Narender Reddy, Arikepudi Gandhi, Madhavaram Krishna Rao, Ramachandru Nayak, Naveen Rao, municipal corporation commissioners and other senior officials participated in the programme.
