ఒలింపిక్స్ లక్ష్యంగా క్రీడాకారులకు శిక్షణ ఇచ్చేందుకు వీలుగా తెలంగాణలో అన్ని సౌకర్యాలతో పాటు స్పోర్ట్స్ యూనివర్సిటీ నిర్మాణాలు ఉండాలని ముఖ్యమంత్రి శ్రీ రేవంత్ రెడ్డి గారు ఆదేశాలిచ్చారు. ఒలింపిక్స్, కామన్వెల్త్ క్రీడలకు తెలంగాణ ఆతిథ్యమిచ్చేలా, ఒలంపిక్స్లో రాష్ట్ర క్రీడాకారులు సత్తా చాటడమే లక్ష్యంగా క్రీడా ప్రణాళికలు సిద్ధం చేయాలని చెప్పారు.
క్రీడలకు అవసరమైన మైదానాలు, యూనివర్సిటీ, శిక్షణ తదితర అంశాలపై క్రీడాశాఖకు సంబంధించి ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారు ఉన్నతస్థాయి సమావేశంలో సమీక్షించారు.
రాష్ట్రంలో తలపెట్టిన యంగ్ ఇండియా స్పోర్ట్స్ యూనివర్సిటీ (YISU) అంతర్జాతీయ ప్రమాణాలు కలిగిన మైదానాలతో పాటు అన్ని సౌకర్యాలు కల్పించడంపై చర్చించారు. ఈ సందర్భంగా నిర్మాణాలకు సంబంధించిన పలు డిజైన్లను పరిశీలించిన ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారు అధికారులకు పలు సూచనలు చేశారు.
గచ్చిబౌలి ఔట్డోర్ స్టేడియంను పునరుద్ధరించడంతో పాటు, స్టేడియం ఆవరణలో ఇండోర్ స్టేడియం, యూనివర్సిటీ కాంప్లెక్స్, హాస్టల్ భవనాలు, అన్ని రకాల క్రీడా మైదానాలు, శిక్షణకు అవసరమైన ఇతర సౌకర్యాలు ఉండేలా చర్యలు తీసుకోవాలని చెప్పారు.
నగరంలోని కోట్ల విజయభాస్కర్ రెడ్డి స్టేడియం, ఎల్బీ స్టేడియం, సరూర్నగర్ స్టేడియంలను భవిష్యత్ అవసరాలు, క్రీడాకారులకు శిక్షణ, పోటీలకు అనుగుణంగా ఆధునీకరించాలని ఆదేశించారు.
ఈ సమీక్షా సమావేశంలో మంత్రులు వాకిటి శ్రీహరి గారు, పొంగులేటి శ్రీనివాస రెడ్డి గారు, స్పోర్ట్స్ అథారిటీ చైర్మన్ శివసేనా రెడ్డి గారు, యంగ్ ఇండియా స్పోర్ట్స్ యూనివర్సిటీ వీసీ డాక్టర్ కిషోర్ గారితో పాటు ఇతర ఉన్నతాధికారులు పాల్గొన్నారు.
The development of a comprehensive sports ecosystem in Telangana has been mandated by Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri A. Revanth Reddy, with the establishment of a world-class Sports University to nurture Olympic-level talent at its core. The Chief Minister emphasised that this strategic initiative should be pursued with a long-term vision to enable the state’s athletes to excel on the international stage while positioning Telangana as a premier destination for prestigious global sporting events, including the Olympics and the Commonwealth Games.
The Chief Minister conducted a high-level review meeting with Sports Department officials on the development of sports infrastructure, including stadiums, training facilities and the proposed university.
Discussions were held on establishing the Young India Sports University YISU with international-standard infrastructure and all required facilities. On this occasion, the Chief Minister examined various architectural designs related to the proposed structures and offered several suggestions to the officials.
He directed officials to undertake the renovation of the Gachibowli Outdoor Stadium and ensure the development of an indoor stadium, university complex, hostel buildings and multiple sports grounds along with all necessary training facilities within the stadium premises.
The Chief Minister also ordered the modernisation of Kotla Vijayabhaskar Reddy Stadium, LB Stadium and Saroornagar Stadium to meet future requirements, strengthen athlete training and facilitate the conduct of major competitions.
Ministers Vakiti Srihari, Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, Sports Authority Chairman Shivsena Reddy, Young India Sports University Vice Chancellor Dr. Kishore and other senior officials participated in the review meeting.
