ఆదివాసీ వీరవనితలు సమ్మక్క, సారలమ్మలు కొలువైన మేడారం జంపన్న వాగులో నిరంతరం నీరు ప్రవహించే విధంగా రామప్ప–లక్నవరం నుంచి పైప్లైన్ ద్వారా నీటిని తరలిస్తామని ముఖ్యమంత్రి శ్రీ రేవంత్ రెడ్డి గారు ప్రకటించారు. అలాగే ఈ పుణ్యక్షేత్రాన్ని తిరుమల – తిరుపతి, కుంభమేళాలను తలపించేలా ప్రతినిత్యం భక్తులు సందర్శించే విధంగా మేడారం ఆలయ ప్రాంతాన్ని అభివృద్ధి చేస్తామని వెల్లడించారు.
సమ్మక్క – సారలమ్మ మహాజాతర సందర్భంగా మేడారంలో నిర్వహించిన సాంస్కృతిక ఉత్సవాల్లో ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారు ఉప ముఖ్యమంత్రి మల్లు భట్టి విక్రమార్క గారు, మంత్రివర్గ సహచరులు, ఎంపీలు, ప్రజాప్రతినిధులతో కలిసి పాల్గొన్నారు.
మేడారంలో జరిగిన మంత్రిమండలి సమావేశం అనంతరం నిర్వహించిన ఈ ఉత్సవ కార్యక్రమంలో ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారు మాట్లాడుతూ.. ఆదివాసీ సోదర సోదరీమణులందరికీ సమ్మక్క – సారలమ్మ జాతర శుభాకాంక్షలు తెలియజేశారు. నిరంతరం భక్తులు, పర్యాటకులు సందర్శించే విధంగా మేడారం ఆలయాన్ని అభివృద్ధి చేస్తామని ప్రకటించారు.
“గుడి లేని తల్లులను గుండెనిండా నింపుకుని జరుపుకునే అతిపెద్ద మేడారం జాతర కోసం చేపట్టిన అభివృద్ధి పనులు పూర్తిగా సంతృప్తినిచ్చాయి. 2023 ఫిబ్రవరి 6వ తేదీన ఈ ఆలయాన్ని సందర్శించిన సందర్భంగా ప్రపంచానికి ఆదర్శంగా నిలిచే విధంగా ఈ ప్రాంతాన్ని తీర్చిదిద్దుతామని చెప్పాం.
ఇచ్చిన మాట ప్రకారం సమ్మక్క, సారలమ్మ ఆలయాన్ని కుంభమేళాను తలపించే విధంగా, ఆదివాసీలనే కాకుండా ప్రపంచవ్యాప్తంగా అందరినీ ఆకర్షించేలా తీర్చిదిద్దాం. ఇది ఒక అరుదైన సందర్భం. అద్భుతమైన సన్నివేశం. వంద రోజుల్లో పనులు పూర్తి చేయాలని చెప్పినప్పుడు అందరూ ఆశ్చర్యపోయారు. జాతర ప్రారంభమయ్యే జనవరి 28 నాటికి పూర్తి చేయాలని చెప్పాను.
మేడారం ఆలయ పునరుద్ధరణ చేపట్టడం నాకు జీవితకాలం గుర్తుండిపోయే సందర్భం. జీవితకాలంలో ప్రజలకు ఏమైనా ఉపయోగపడే పని చేశామా అని వెనక్కి తిరిగి చూసుకున్నప్పుడు సంతృప్తినిచ్చే ఘట్టం ఇది. జీవితాంతం గుర్తుండిపోయే అరుదైన అవకాశం.
ఉమ్మడి ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్లోగానీ, తెలంగాణలోగానీ హైదరాబాద్ బయట మంత్రివర్గ సమావేశం నిర్వహించిన సందర్భం లేదు. అలాంటి సమావేశాన్ని ఆదివాసీ ఆరాధ్య దైవం సమ్మక్క – సారలమ్మ పుణ్యక్షేత్రమైన మేడారంలో నిర్వహించడంపై మంత్రివర్గ సహచరులందరూ సంతోషం వ్యక్తం చేశారు. సోమవారం ఉదయం గుడిని ప్రారంభించి భక్తులకు అంకితం చేస్తామని ఆయన వివరించారు.
Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri A. Revanth Reddy announced that continuous water supply will be ensured to the Jampanna stream in Medaram, through a pipeline from Ramappa–Laknavaram, ensuring the sacred site remains vibrant for devotees. He also revealed that the Medaram temple area will be developed to attract devotees and visitors year-round, in a manner inspired by Tirumala–Tirupati and the scale of a Kumbh Mela.
On the occasion of the Sammakka-Saralamma Maha Jathara, the Chief Minister participated in cultural programs in Medaram along with Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, cabinet colleagues, MPs, and other public representatives.
Speaking at the event following the cabinet meeting, the Chief Minister extended greetings to all tribal communities on the occasion of the Jathara and reaffirmed that the Medaram temple will be developed as a key center for devotees and tourists alike.
He said the development works for the grand Medaram Jathara, celebrated with devotion to the goddesses who have no temples, have been completed satisfactorily. Recalling his visit on February 6, 2023, he highlighted that the area would be developed as a model for cultural and spiritual heritage.
As promised, the Sammakka and Saralamma temple has been transformed into a site of significance, reminiscent of a Kumbh Mela, attracting devotees from across the state and beyond. He noted that completing the works within 100 days, in time for the Jathara starting January 28, was a rare and proud achievement.
The Chief Minister described the renovation of the Medaram temple as a milestone in his tenure, offering satisfaction in seeing meaningful development for the tribal communities. He also highlighted that this marked the first instance of a cabinet meeting being held outside Hyderabad in either undivided Andhra Pradesh or Telangana, with all cabinet colleagues expressing their appreciation for convening it at this sacred tribal site. The temple is scheduled to be inaugurated and dedicated to devotees on Monday morning.
