ఒకప్పుడు తట్టపని, మట్టి పని, పార పని కోసం వలసలు వెళ్లిన పాలమూరును తెలంగాణలోనే అత్యంత అభివృద్ధి చెందిన జిల్లాగా తీర్చిదిద్దుతామని ముఖ్యమంత్రి శ్రీ రేవంత్ రెడ్డి గారు పేర్కొన్నారు. ఇతర దేశాలు, రాష్ట్రాల నుంచి తెలంగాణ పర్యటనకు వచ్చే వారు తప్పనిసరిగా పాలమూరు జిల్లాను సందర్శించేలా అభివృద్ధి చేయాలన్నది తన కల అని చెప్పారు.
‘ప్రజాపాలన – ప్రగతి బాట’ కార్యక్రమంలో భాగంగా మహబూబ్ నగర్ జిల్లాలో వెయ్యి కోట్ల రూపాయలకు పైగా పలు అభివృద్ధి పనులను ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారు ప్రారంభించారు. ఒకప్పుడు రాష్ట్ర పర్యటనకు వచ్చిన వారు గ్రాంట్ల కోసం పాలమూరులోని పేదరికాన్ని చూపించిన సందర్భాలు అత్యంత బాధాకరమని, పదేండ్లు పెండింగ్లో ఉన్న ప్రాజెక్టుల సమస్యలను పరిష్కరించి ముందుకు సాగుతున్నామని అన్నారు.
“పాలమూరు అభివృద్ధి కోసం అందరం కలిసిమెలిసి పనిచేద్దాం. పాలమూరును అభివృద్ధి చెందిన ప్రాంతంగా తీర్చిదిద్దాల్సిన అవసరం ఉంది. సంక్రాంతి పండుగ సందర్భంగా పాలమూరులో వెలుగులు నింపాలని, దేశానికి పేరు తేవాలని ఆకాంక్షిస్తూ ట్రిపుల్ ఐటీతో పాటు వందలాది కోట్ల రూపాయల అభివృద్ధి పనులను ప్రారంభించాం.
పాలమూరు జిల్లా వెనుకబాటుకు ప్రధాన కారణాలు సాగునీటి సౌకర్యాలు కల్పించకపోవడం, విద్యావకాశాలు లేకపోవడమే. చదువులకు అవసరమైన నిధులు అందించే బాధ్యత తనదే.
ప్రాజెక్టులకు అనుమతులు, నిధులు రావాలంటే కేంద్రంలో ప్రధానమంత్రి గారిని కలవాల్సిందే. గ్రామంలో అభివృద్ధి జరగాలంటే సర్పంచులు ఎంత కీలకమో, దేశంలో అభివృద్ధి జరగాలంటే ప్రధానమంత్రి గారు అంతే కీలకం. అభివృద్ధి విషయంలో ఎక్కడా రాజీ పడబోం.
తెలంగాణకు ఐఐఎం (IIM) సాధించుకుని దాన్ని మహబూబ్నగర్లో ఏర్పాటు చేయాలని కోరుతున్నారని, ప్రధానమంత్రి నరేంద్ర మోదీ గారిని కలిసి జిల్లాలోనే స్థాపించుకుందాం.
విద్య, నీటిపారుదల రంగాలకు ప్రభుత్వం అత్యధిక ప్రాధాన్యత ఇస్తోంది. పాలమూరు – రంగారెడ్డి, ఎస్సెల్బీసీ, జూరాల ప్రాజెక్టులలో పెండింగ్ పనులు, ఆర్డీఎస్ పనులను పూర్తి చేసే బాధ్యతను ప్రభుత్వం తీసుకుంటుంది. ప్రాజెక్టులకు సంబంధించి ఎక్కడెక్కడ ఆర్ అండ్ ఆర్ పెండింగ్లో ఉందో అక్కడ ముందుగా సమస్యలను పరిష్కరిస్తాం.
నిరక్షరాస్యత, పేదరికం మనకు శత్రువులు. మహిళలకు అన్యాయం చేసే వారు, విద్యార్థులకు నష్టం కలిగించే వారు కూడా శత్రువులే. చదువుకు అడ్డు తగిలే వారిని సహించబోం. పేదరిక నిర్మూలన మన ప్రధాన బాధ్యత. పేదరికాన్ని తెలంగాణ సరిహద్దుల వరకూ తరిమివేయడమే లక్ష్యం. అందుకు అందరం కలిసికట్టుగా పనిచేయాలి. రాజకీయాలకు అతీతంగా పాలమూరును అభివృద్ధి చేసుకుందాం.
ఉమ్మడి రాష్ట్రంలో మంజూరైన ప్రాజెక్టులు తప్ప గత పదేండ్లలో ఒక్క కొత్త ప్రాజెక్టు కూడా మంజూరు కాలేదు. బీమా, నెట్టెంపాడు, కోయిల్ సాగర్, జూరాల, పాలమూరు – రంగారెడ్డి, కల్వకుర్తి వంటి ఒక్క ప్రాజెక్టు కూడా పూర్తి చేయలేదు.
తమ ప్రభుత్వం అధికారంలోకి వచ్చిన తర్వాత ఉద్ధండాపూర్ భూసేకరణకు నిధులు ఇచ్చాం. సంగంబండ కోసం 10 కోట్ల రూపాయలు, కల్వకుర్తి ఎత్తిపోతల పథకం భూసేకరణ కోసం 75 కోట్ల రూపాయలు విడుదల చేశాం.
మక్తల్ –నారాయణపేట – కొడంగల్ ఎత్తిపోతల పథకానికి 1500 కోట్ల రూపాయల మంజూరు చేశాం. ఈ ప్రాజెక్టు కింద 96 శాతం భూమి కోల్పోయే రైతులను ఒప్పించి, మెప్పించి, నష్టపరిహారం నూటికి నూరు శాతం చెల్లించి ప్రజల ఆమోదం తీసుకున్నాం..” అని ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారు వివరించారు.
ఈ కార్యక్రమంలో మంత్రులు దామోదర రాజనర్సింహ గారు, జూపల్లి కృష్ణారావు గారు, వాకిటి శ్రీహరి గారు, మహమ్మద్ అజారుద్దీన్ గారు, ప్రణాళికా సంఘం ఉపాధ్యక్షుడు చిన్నారెడ్డి గారు, ఎంపీలు మల్లు రవి గారు, డీకే అరుణ గారు, ఉమ్మడి మహబూబ్నగర్ జిల్లా ప్రజాప్రతినిధులు, అధికారులు పాల్గొన్నారు.
Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri A. Revanth Reddy envisions transforming Palamuru from a land of migration into one of Telangana’s most developed districts. Highlighting his personal dream for the region, he stated that Palamuru will be developed so extensively that visitors from other states and countries will regard it as a must-visit destination during their travels in Telangana.
As part of the Praja Palana – Pragathi Bata (People’s Governance – Path to Progress) programme, the Chief Minister inaugurated development works worth over ₹1,000 crore in Mahbubnagar district. Recalling the past, he said it was painful that Palamuru’s poverty was once highlighted by visitors to the state to seek grants, and added that the government is now moving ahead by resolving issues related to projects that had remained pending for nearly a decade.
Calling for collective responsibility, the Chief Minister said there is a need to work together to transform Palamuru into a developed region. On the occasion of the Sankranthi festival, with the aim of bringing prosperity to Palamuru and contributing to the nation’s progress, the government has launched development works worth hundreds of crores, including the establishment of a Triple IT (Indian Institute of Information Technology).
He said the main reasons for the backwardness of Palamuru district were the lack of irrigation facilities and educational opportunities. Assuring full support, the Chief Minister said the government would take complete responsibility for providing the necessary funds for strengthening the education sector.
Emphasising the importance of coordination with the Union Government, he said approvals and funds for major projects require discussions in Delhi. “Just as sarpanches are crucial for the development of villages, the Prime Minister plays a key role in the development of the country. We will not compromise anywhere when it comes to development,” he said.
Referring to public demand, the Chief Minister said efforts would be made to secure an IIM (Indian Institute of Management) for Telangana and establish it in Mahbubnagar district. He called upon all stakeholders to collectively approach Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make the establishment of the IIM in the district a reality.
The Chief Minister said the government is giving top priority to the education and irrigation sectors. He assured that the pending works of the Palamuru–Rangareddy, SLBC, and Jurala projects, along with RDS works, would be completed. Wherever Rehabilitation and Resettlement issues are pending, they will be resolved on priority.
Stating that illiteracy and poverty are his biggest enemies, the Chief Minister said injustice to women and harm to students would not be tolerated. He said eradicating poverty is his foremost responsibility and his goal is to drive poverty beyond the borders of Telangana. He called upon everyone to work together beyond politics for the overall development of Palamuru.
He pointed out that except for projects sanctioned during the undivided state period, not a single new major project was sanctioned in the last ten years, and several irrigation projects such as Bheema, Nettempadu, Koil Sagar, Jurala, Palamuru–Rangareddy, and Kalwakurthy were not completed.
After the present government came to power, funds were released for land acquisition for the Uddandapur project. An amount of ₹10 crore was sanctioned for Sangambanda, while ₹75 crore was released for land acquisition under the Kalwakurthy Lift Irrigation Scheme.
The government has sanctioned ₹1,500 crore for the Makthal–Narayanpet–Kodangal Lift Irrigation Scheme. Under this project, farmers who were losing up to 96 percent of their land were convinced, provided 100 percent compensation, and their consent was obtained, the Chief Minister explained.
Ministers Damodara Rajanarasimha, Jupally Krishna Rao, Vakiti Srihari, Mohammed Azharuddin, Planning Commission Vice Chairman Chinna Reddy, MPs Mallu Ravi and DK Aruna, along with public representatives and officials from the undivided Mahbubnagar district, participated in the programme.
