తెలంగాణలోని ఆడబిడ్డలకు ప్రభుత్వం తరఫున సారె పెట్టి గౌరవించాలన్న ఆలోచనతో కోటి మంది మహిళలకు కోటి చీరల పంపిణీ కార్యక్రమం చేపట్టామని ముఖ్యమంత్రి శ్రీ రేవంత్ రెడ్డి గారు చెప్పారు. 2034 నాటికి రాష్ట్రంలో కోటి మంది మహిళలను కోటీశ్వరులను చేయాలన్న సంకల్పంతో ప్రభుత్వం ముందుకు వెళుతోందన్నారు.
మాజీ ప్రధానమంత్రి, భారతరత్న స్వర్గీయ ఇందిరా గాంధీ గారి జయంతి సందర్భంగా ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారు హైదరాబాద్ నెక్లెస్ రోడ్డు కూడలి వద్ద ఉప ముఖ్యమంత్రి శ్రీ మల్లు భట్టి విక్రమార్క గారు, ఇతర మంత్రులతో కలిసి ఆ మహనీయురాలి విగ్రహానికి పుష్పాంజలి ఘటించారు.
అనంతరం పలువురు మహిళా సమాఖ్య ప్రతినిధులకు చీరలను అందించి, రాష్ట్ర వ్యాప్తంగా కోటి మంది మహిళలకు కోటి చీరల పంపిణీ కార్యక్రమాన్ని లాంఛనంగా ప్రారంభించారు.
ఈ సందర్భంగా ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారు మాట్లాడుతూ, ఈరోజు నుంచి తెలంగాణ తల్లి అవతరణ దినోత్సవం 9 వ తేదీ డిసెంబర్ వరకు రాష్ట్ర వ్యాప్తంగా మొదటి విడతగా గ్రామీణ ప్రాంతాల్లో 65 లక్షల చీరల పంపిణీ కార్యక్రమం చేపడుతారని చెప్పారు. మార్చి 1 నుంచి 8 తేదీ అంతర్జాతీయ మహిళా దినోత్సవం లోపు మున్సిపల్, పట్టణ, నగర ప్రాంతాల్లో పంపిణీ చేస్తామన్నారు.
“ఇందిరా గాంధీ స్ఫూర్తితోనే స్థానిక సంస్థల్లో మహిళలకు రిజర్వేషన్లతో పాటు మహిళా సంఘాలకు జీరో వడ్డీ రుణాలు, పెట్రోల్బంక్లు అప్పగించడం, 500 రూపాయలకే గ్యాస్ సిలిండర్, ఆర్టీసీలో ఉచిత ప్రయాణ సౌకర్యమే కాకుండా బస్సులకు యజమానులను కూడా ఆడబిడ్డలను చేశాం. సోలార్ పవర్ ప్లాంట్లు అందించడానికి ప్రత్యేక కార్యాచరణలో ముందుకు వెళుతున్నాం.
స్వర్గీయ ఇందిరా గాంధీ గారు ప్రధానమంత్రిగా దేశంలో అనేక విప్లవాత్మకమైన, స్ఫూర్తిదాయకమైన నిర్ణయాలు తీసుకున్నారు. ముఖ్యంగా బడుగు, బలహీన, అట్టడుగు వర్గాల అభ్యున్నతి కోసం చివరి రక్తపు బొట్టును ధారపోశారు.
చీరల విషయంలో ఎవరూ బాధ పడాల్సిన అవసరం లేదు. ఇది మన ఆత్మగౌరవం. ప్రతి ఆడబిడ్డకు చీర అందుతుంది. ఆడబిడ్డలకు సారె పెట్టాలన్న ఆలోచనతో చేపడుతున్న ఈ కార్యక్రమాన్ని నిండు మనసుతో ఆశీర్వదించాలి” అని ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారు అన్నారు.
ఈ కార్యక్రమంలో ఉప ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారితో పాటు మంత్రులు ధనసరి అనసూయ సీతక్క గారు, దామోదర రాజనర్సింహ గారు, కోమటిరెడ్డి వెంకటరెడ్డి గారు, కొండా సురేఖ గారు, పొన్నం ప్రభాకర్ గారు, పొంగులేటి శ్రీనివాస రెడ్డి గారు, వాకిటి శ్రీహరి గారు, నగర మేయర్ గద్వాల విజయలక్ష్మి గారితో పాటు ఇతర ప్రజా ప్రతినిధులు, అధికారులు పాల్గొన్నారు.
Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri A. Revanth Reddy launched the initiative to distribute one crore sarees to one crore women across Telangana, symbolising respect and honour for the girl children of the state. He reaffirmed the government’s goal to empower one crore women to become millionaires by 2034.
On the occasion of the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna Late Smt. Indira Gandhi, the Chief Minister, along with Deputy Chief Minister Shri Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and Ministers, paid floral tributes at Necklace Road, Hyderabad.
The statewide saree distribution programme was formally launched by presenting sarees to representatives of various women’s associations.
The first phase, covering 65 lakh sarees, will be distributed in rural areas from today until December 9. Distribution in municipal, urban, and city areas will be completed from March 1 to 8, ahead of International Women’s Day.
The Chief Minister highlighted initiatives inspired by Indira Gandhi’s vision—women’s reservations in local bodies, zero-interest loans to women’s groups, petrol bunk allocations, gas cylinders at ₹500, free travel in RTC buses, enabling women to become bus owners, and dedicated efforts to support solar power units.
He recalled that Late Indira Gandhi took several revolutionary and inspiring decisions as Prime Minister and dedicated herself to the upliftment of the poor, weaker, and marginalized sections.
Emphasising the significance of the programme, the Chief Minister said, “Every girl child will receive a saree. This initiative reflects our self-respect. Let us bless this programme wholeheartedly.”
Deputy Chief Minister, Ministers Dhanasari Anasuya Seethakka, Damodar Rajanarsimha, Komatireddy Venkata Reddy, Konda Surekha, Ponnam Prabhakar, Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, Vakiti Srihari, City Mayor Gadwala Vijayalakshmi, and several officials and public representatives participated in the programme.
