ఆసియాలోనే అతిపెద్ద ఆదివాసీ.. మేడారం జాతరకు జాతీయ పండుగ గుర్తింపు ఇవ్వాలని ముఖ్యమంత్రి శ్రీ రేవంత్ రెడ్డి గారు డిమాండ్ చేశారు. కుంభమేళా స్థాయిలో జరిగే ఈ మహాజాతరకు జాతీయ గుర్తింపునివ్వడమే కాకుండా కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం తగినన్ని నిధులను విడుదల చేయాలని కోరారు.
వచ్చే ఏడాది ప్రారంభంలో శ్రీ సమ్మక్క – సారలమ్మ జాతర ప్రారంభమవుతున్న నేపథ్యంలో ఆలయ ప్రాంగణ శాశ్వత ప్రాతిపదికన అభివృద్ధి కార్యాచరణ ప్రణాళికపై మేడారంలో ఉన్నతస్థాయి సమావేశంలో ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారు సమీక్షించారు. అనంతరం జరిగిన సభలో సమ్మక్క, సారలమ్మ గద్దెల అభివృద్ధి, ప్రాంగణ పునర్నిర్మాణ ప్రణాళిక నమూనాను ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారు ఆవిష్కరించారు.
ఈ సందర్భంగా సభలో ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారు మాట్లాడుతూ.. “సమ్మక్క సారలమ్మ గద్దెలు, ప్రాంగణ పునర్నిర్మాణం చేపట్టే అవకాశం దక్కడంతో నా జన్మ ధన్యమైంది. ఇది బాధ్యతతో కూడిన భావోద్వేగం. ప్రజా జీవితంలోకి వచ్చినప్పటి నుంచి ప్రతిసారీ సమ్మక్క, సారలమ్మ ఆశీర్వాదాలు తీసుకుంటున్నా.
గతంలో పాలకులు ఆలయ అభివృద్ధిపై వివక్ష ప్రదర్శించారు. ఆలయ అభివృద్ధికి ప్రతి సందర్భంలోనూ ఆనాటి పాలకులకు విజ్ఞప్తి చేస్తూ వచ్చాను. వారేదో దాన, ధర్మమిచ్చినట్టుగా తాత్కాలిక పనులతో సరిపెట్టారు. తాను ఇక్కడి నుంచే పాదయాత్ర బయలుదేరా.
ఆదివాసీలే ఈ దేశానికి మూల వాసులు. దొరల పాలనను అంతం చేసి ప్రజా పాలనకు ఇక్కడి నుంచే శ్రీకారం చుట్టాం. ఆదివాసీల అభివృద్ధి, సంక్షేమం కోసం ప్రజా ప్రభుత్వం పనిచేస్తోంది. ఆదివాసీల అభివృద్ధి, సంక్షేమానికి ప్రభుత్వం ప్రణాళిక అందించింది.
బడుగు బలహీన వర్గాలకు ప్రతి నియోజకవర్గానికి 3,500 ఇందిరమ్మ ఇండ్లు కేటాయించినప్పుడు సరిపోవని ఆదివాసీ, గిరిజన ప్రాంత వాసులు చెప్పినప్పుడు ఐటీడీఏ ప్రాంతాల్లో వారికి అదనంగా ఇండ్లు ఇచ్చాం.
ప్రభుత్వం అమలు చేసే ఏ కార్యక్రమమైనా ఆదివాసీలకు ఇవ్వాల్సిన వాటా, కోటా ఇవ్వాల్సిందే. దశాబ్దాలుగా వారికి అన్యాయం జరిగింది. వాటన్నింటినీ సరిదిద్దాలని ప్రజా ప్రభుత్వం ముందుకు వెళుతోంది.
గద్దెలు, ప్రాంగణ అభివృద్ధి నిర్మాణం జీవితంలో వచ్చిన గొప్ప, అరుదైన అవకాశం. సమ్మక్క, సారలమ్మ గద్దెల పునర్నిర్మాణ కార్యక్రమం చేపట్టడంతో జన్మ ధన్యమైంది. వాటి నిర్మాణంలో నిధుల సమస్య ఉండదు. ఆలయ ప్రాంగణ అభివృద్ధికి ఎన్ని కోట్లయినా ప్రభుత్వం పూర్తి చేస్తుంది.
ఆదివాసీ, గిరిజన సంస్కృతి, సంప్రదాయాలను కాపాడుకునే ప్రణాళిక ప్రకారం అభివృద్ధి కార్యక్రమాలు చేపట్టాలని ఇందులో వారిని భాగస్వాములను చేస్తున్నాం. సిమెంట్ కన్నా రాతి కట్టడాలతో నిర్మాణాలు చేపడితే వేల ఏండ్లు ఉంటుంది. గొప్ప నగిశీలు, రాతి కట్టడాలతో రాబోయే తరాలకు ఆదర్శంగా ఉండాలని ప్రణాళికలు వేశాం.
ఈ గొప్ప కార్యక్రమంలో మీరంతా భాగస్వాములు కావాలి. ఆదివాసీ సోదరుల కోరిక మేరకు ఈ ప్రణాళిక తీసుకొచ్చాం. వచ్చే జాతర నాటికి కార్యక్రమాలు పూర్తి కావాలంటే రాత్రింబవళ్లు ఇక్కడ పనులు జరగాలి. ఆలయ అభివృద్ధితో పాటు జంపన్న వాగు నిర్మాణం, రహదారుల నిర్మాణాలపైన కూడా సలహాలు, సూచనలు తీసుకుంటాం.
రాబోయే వంద రోజులు ప్రతి వారం జిల్లా ఇంచార్జీ మంత్రి గారు ఇక్కడికి వచ్చి పనులను పర్యవేక్షించాలి. నిష్టతో స్వామి అయ్యప్ప మాల వేసుకున్న తీరుగా సమ్మక్క సారలమ్మ మాల ధరించిన రీతిలో పనులను పర్యవేక్షించాలి. పనులు పూర్తయిన తర్వాత మళ్లీ ఇక్కడ పర్యటిస్తా.
మేడారం జాతరను ఈసారి అత్యంత అద్భుతంగా చేసుకుందాం. ఈ ఆదివాసీ కుంభమేళాను జాతీయ పండుగగా గుర్తించాలని కోరుతున్నాం. కుంభమేళాకు వేల కోట్ల నిధులు ఇస్తున్న కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం మేడారం జాతరకు కూడా నిధులను మంజూరు చేయాలి. అందరం కలిసి ఒక మంచి సంకల్పంతో అభివృద్ధి కార్యక్రమాలు పూర్తయ్యే వరకు కష్టపడి పనిచేద్దాం..” అని పిలుపునిచ్చారు.
ఈ సభలో మంత్రులు కొండా సురేఖ గారు, పొంగులేటి శ్రీనివాస రెడ్డి గారు, ధనసరి అనసూయ సీతక్క గారు, అడ్లూరి లక్ష్మణ్ కుమార్ గారు, సలహాదారు వేం నరేందర్ రెడ్డి గారు, తెలంగాణలోని గిరిజన ప్రాంత ఎంపీలు, ఎమ్మెల్సీలు, ఎమ్మెల్యేలు, ఆదివాసీ ప్రతినిధులు, గిరిజనులు పాల్గొన్నారు.
Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri A. Revanth Reddy has demanded that the Medaram Jatara, Asia’s largest tribal festival, be recognized as a national festival. He urged the Central Government to release adequate funds for this grand Mahajatara, celebrated on a scale comparable to the Kumbh Mela, and to officially accord it national recognition, emphasizing its cultural and historical significance.
Ahead of the Sri Sammakka-Saralamma Jatara scheduled early next year, the Chief Minister held a high-level review meeting in Medaram to examine the action plan for the permanent development of the temple premises. During the meeting, he unveiled the draft plan for the development of the Sammakka and Saralamma Gaddelas, along with the reconstruction of the temple premises.
Addressing the assembly, the Chief Minister said,
“I am blessed to undertake the reconstruction of the Sammakka-Saralamma Gaddelu and temple premises. This is an emotion that comes with responsibility. Since entering public life, I have sought the blessings of Sammakka and Saralamma at every step.”
He added, “In the past, rulers neglected the temple’s development. Temporary works were carried out as if they were donations or charity. I am beginning the padayatra from here to ensure proper development.”
The Chief Minister emphasized that tribals are the original inhabitants of the country, and the people’s government is working for their development and welfare. The government has already provided plans for the housing and welfare of tribal communities, including 3,500 Indiramma houses per constituency and additional houses in ITDA areas where needed.
He stated that all government programs must ensure tribals receive their rightful share and quota, correcting decades of unfair treatment. The reconstruction of Gaddes and the temple premises is a rare and significant opportunity, and the government will ensure sufficient funds are allocated to complete the works, no matter the cost.
“We are making the tribal communities partners in this project to preserve their culture and traditions. Using stone structures rather than cement will ensure these buildings last for generations. The carvings and designs will serve as an example for the future,” he added.
The Chief Minister called upon all to actively participate in the development program. He instructed that work should proceed day and night to complete it before the next Jatara, including suggestions for the construction of the Jampanna stream and associated roads.
He further directed that the district in-charge minister should supervise the works weekly for the next 100 days. “The supervision should be as devoted as Swami Ayyappa wearing his garland, as Sammakka-Saralamma wore theirs. I will return after the completion of the works,” he said.
The Chief Minister concluded, “Let us make the Medaram Jatara the most wonderful yet. We want this Adivasi Kumbh Mela to be recognized as a national festival. Just as thousands of crores are allocated for the Kumbh Mela, the Central Government should sanction funds for Medaram Jatara. Let us all work together with goodwill until the development programs are completed.”
Ministers Konda Surekha, Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, Dhanasari Anasuya Seethakka, Adluri Laxman Kumar, Advisor Vem Narender Reddy, MPs, MLCs, MLAs, tribal representatives, and tribal community members from Telangana participated in the meeting.
