దేశ భవిష్యత్తును నిర్మించుకోవడానికి విద్య ఒక్కటే మార్గమని, అందుకే తెలంగాణలో విద్యకు అత్యధిక ప్రాధాన్యమిస్తున్నామని ముఖ్యమంత్రి శ్రీ రేవంత్ రెడ్డి గారు చెప్పారు. “విద్య అనేది మనకు లభించిన ఒక గొప్ప బహుమతి. విద్య అన్నది ఒక గొప్ప ఆయుధం. అదే అందరికీ గొప్ప శక్తి.. అని బలంగా విశ్వసిస్తా” అని అన్నారు.
కేరళలోని అలప్పుళలో లోక్సభ సభ్యుడు, పబ్లిక్ అకౌంట్స్ కమిటీ చైర్మన్ కేసీ వేణుగోపాల్ గారు ప్రతిభ కనబరిచే విద్యార్థినీ విద్యార్థులకు ఎంపీ మెరిట్ అవార్డులు-2025 బహూకరణ కార్యక్రమంలో ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారు ముఖ్య అతిథిగా పాల్గొని ప్రసంగించారు. విద్యకు కేరళ రాష్ట్రానికి బలమైన సంబంధం ఉందని, దేశంలో వంద శాతం అక్షరాస్యత సాధించిన తొలి రాష్ట్రంగా కేరళ అన్ని రాష్ట్రాలకు ఆదర్శంగా నిలుస్తోందన్నారు.
“అణిచివేత, అన్యాయానికి గురవుతున్న బాధితుల గొంతుకగా వేణుగోపాల్ గారు నిరంతరం నిరుపేదలు, అణగారిన వర్గాల పక్షాన నిలుస్తున్నారు. 10 వ, 12 తరగతుల్లో అత్యుత్తమ ప్రతిభ కనబరిచిన విద్యార్థుల కోసం 2006 లో ప్రారంభించి 19 ఏళ్లుగా పొంథువల్ ఎంపీ మెరిట్ అవార్డులను బహూకరించడం అభినందనీయం. ఇలాంటి కార్యక్రమాలు అందరికీ ఆదర్శంగా నిలుస్తాయి.
రానున్న రోజుల్లో విద్యకున్న ప్రాధాన్యత గురించి నేను ప్రతి సందర్భంలోనూ ప్రజలకు చెబుతుంటా. విద్యా రంగంపై ప్రభుత్వాలకు సరైన ఫోకస్ లేని కారణంగానే ప్రభుత్వంకన్నా ప్రైవేటు పాఠశాలల్లో ఎక్కువ మంది విద్యార్థులు చేరుతున్నారు. తెలంగాణలో విద్యా రంగాన్ని ఒక సవాలుగా తీసుకుని పనిచేస్తున్నాం.
ఇప్పుడు తెలంగాణలో విద్యా రంగాన్ని ఒక సవాలుగా తీసుకుని పనిచేస్తున్నాం. అందుకే తెలంగాణలో వంద అసెంబ్లీ నియోజకవర్గాల్లో యంగ్ ఇండియా ఇంటిగ్రేటెడ్ రెసిడెన్షియల్ పాఠశాలు నిర్మిస్తున్నాం. ప్రతి పాఠశాలకు 200 కోట్ల రూపాయలు వెచ్చించి ఒక్కో క్యాంపస్ లో 2500 విద్యార్థులకు నాణ్యమైన విద్యను అందించాలని లక్ష్యంగా పెట్టుకున్నాం.
దేశానికి స్వాతంత్య్రం సాధించి వందేళ్లవుతున్న 2047 నాటికి బలమైన ఆర్థిక వ్యవస్థగా ఎదగాలన్న లక్ష్య సాధనలో తెలంగాణ నుంచి 10 శాతం మేరకు దోహదపడాలన్న సంకల్పంతో 3 ట్రిలియన్ డాలర్ ఆర్థిక శక్తిగా మా రాష్ట్రం లక్ష్యంగా నిర్ధేశించుకుంది.
ఉపాధి అవకాశాలు ఉన్నప్పటికీ విద్యార్థుల్లో సరైన నైపుణ్యత లేని కారణంగా నిరుద్యోగులుగా మిగిలిపోతున్నారని, అందుకే మహీంద్రా గ్రూప్ చైర్మన్ ఆనంద్ మహీంద్రా లాంటి పారిశ్రామిక దిగ్గజాలు, నిపుణులు, నిష్ణాతులతో కలిసి రాష్ట్రంలో యంగ్ ఇండియా స్కిల్స్ యూనివర్సిటీని స్థాపించాం.
మార్కెట్ లోకి అధునాతన కార్లు వస్తున్న దశలో పాత అంబాసిడర్ కార్లను రిపేర్ చేసే మెకానిక్ కోర్సులను బోధించే ఐటీఐలను టాటా టెక్నాలజీస్ సంస్థ సీఎస్ఆర్ నిధులతో వాటిని పూర్తిగా మార్చి వేసి అడ్వాన్స్డ్ టెక్నాలజీ సెంటర్లుగా మార్చుతున్నాం.
సౌత్ కొరియా లాంటి చిన్న దేశం ఒలింపిక్స్లో 32 పతకాలు సాధించగా, 140 కోట్ల జనాభా కలిగిన భారతదేశం ఒలింపిక్స్లో ఒక్క స్వర్ణ పతకం సాధించలేకపోవడం విచారించదగిన విషయం. అందుకే తెలంగాణలో సంజయ్ గోయంకా లాంటి దిగ్గజాలతో తెలంగాణ స్పోర్ట్స్ హబ్ ఏర్పాటు చేశాం. వారి నేతృత్వంలో యంగ్ ఇండియా స్పోర్ట్స్ యూనివర్సిటీ, స్పోర్ట్స్ అకాడమీ స్థాపిస్తున్నాం. యువతను క్రీడారంగంపై ఆసక్తిని పెంచడానికి కొరియా, ఆస్ట్రేలియా లాంటి దేశాల్లోని యూనివర్సిటీలతో ఒప్పందం చేసుకున్నాం.
దేశ భవిష్యత్తు యువతపై ఆధారపడి ఉంది. 21 ఏళ్లు వయసుంటే ఓటు హక్కును రాజీవ్ గాంధీ గారు 18 ఏళ్లకు తగ్గించినట్టుగానే శాసనసభకు పోటీ వయో పరిమితిని 25 నుంచి 21 సంవత్సరాలకు తగ్గించాల్సిన అవసరం ఉంది. యువత తనలోని శక్తిని గుర్తించాలి..” అని ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారు ఉద్బోధించారు.
మొత్తం 3500 విద్యార్థినీ విద్యార్థులకు ఈ మెరిట్ అవార్డుల బహూకరించగా, ఈ కార్యక్రమంలో కేసీ వేణుగోపాల్ గారితో పాటు కేరళ మాజీ ప్రభుత్వ ప్రధాన కార్యదర్శి జీజీ థామస్ గారు, డీఆర్డీఓ అగ్ని 4 మిసైల్ ప్రాజెక్టు మాజీ డైరెక్టర్ డాక్టర్ టెస్సీ థామస్ గారితో పాటు వివిధ రంగాలకు చెందిన పలువురు ప్రముఖులు పాల్గొన్నారు.
Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri A. Revanth Reddy said that education is the only way to build the nation’s future, which is why the Telangana Government is giving it the highest priority. “Education is a great gift, a powerful weapon, and a source of strength for everyone,” he affirmed.
In Alappuzha, Kerala, Chief Minister Shri A. Revanth Reddy participated as the Chief Guest at the MP Merit Awards-2025 ceremony for meritorious students. The awards were instituted in 2006 by Lok Sabha Member and Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee Shri KC Venugopal and have been presented for 19 consecutive years to students excelling in Classes 10 and 12.
The Chief Minister praised Shri Venugopal as “the voice of the oppressed and the downtrodden,” and commended his commitment to education through the Ponthuval MP Merit Awards, which have benefitted thousands of students over the years.
Stressing the urgent need to strengthen public education, the Chief Minister said: “It is because governments have neglected education that more children are forced into private schools. In Telangana, we are treating education as both a challenge and an opportunity.”
He announced that Young India Integrated Residential Schools are being established in 100 Assembly constituencies across Telangana, each with an investment of ₹200 crore, to provide world-class education to 2,500 students per campus.
Outlining Telangana’s vision, he said the state aims to contribute 10% to India’s $30 trillion economy by 2047, the centenary of Independence. To make youth employable, the government has set up the Young India Skills University in partnership with leading industrialists and experts such as Mahindra Group Chairman Shri Anand Mahindra.
He also highlighted the transformation of outdated ITIs into Advanced Technology Centers with the CSR support of Tata Technologies, ensuring students are trained for future-ready industries.
Expressing concern that India, despite its vast population, lags behind smaller nations like South Korea in sports achievements, the Chief Minister said Telangana has established the Telangana Sports Hub in collaboration with sports leaders such as Sanjay Goenka. A Young India Sports University and Sports Academy are being set up with tie-ups with universities in Korea and Australia to nurture young sporting talent.
Calling youth the true architects of the nation’s future, he said: “Just as Rajiv Gandhi reduced the voting age to 18, it is time to reduce the eligibility age for contesting Assembly elections from 25 to 21. The youth must recognize the power within them.”
A total of 3,500 students were honoured with merit awards. Alongside Shri KC Venugopal, dignitaries including former Chief Secretary of Kerala Shri GG Thomas, DRDO Agni-IV Missile Project Director Dr. Tessie Thomas, and other eminent personalities participated in the program.
