నమ్మిన సిద్ధాంతం కోసం జీవితాంతం పని చేసిన కామ్రేడ్ సురవరం సుధాకర్ రెడ్డి గారి పేరు చరిత్రలో శాశ్వతంగా ఉండే విధంగా రాష్ట్ర మంత్రిమండలిలో చర్చించి ఒక మంచి నిర్ణయం తీసుకుంటామని ముఖ్యమంత్రి శ్రీ రేవంత్ రెడ్డి గారు పునరుద్ఘాటించారు.
హైదరాబాద్ రవీంద్రభారతిలో నిర్వహించిన కామ్రేడ్ సురవరం సుధాకర్ రెడ్డి గారి సంస్మరణ సభలో ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారు పాల్గొని ప్రసంగించారు. “సిద్ధాంతాలు చెప్పడమే కాదు. నమ్మిన సిద్ధాంతం కోసం 65 సంవత్సరాలు నిబద్ధతతో జీవించడం ద్వారా సురవరం గారికి ఆ గౌరవం దక్కింది. వారు ఏ జెండాను మోశారో, ఏ జెండా మోయడం గొప్పగా భావించారో.. చివరి శ్వాస తర్వాత కూడా ఆ జెండా నీడనే విశ్రమించడం అత్యంత అరుదు.
ప్రజలతో గుర్తింపబడిన మహనీయుల పేర్లు ఈ రాష్ట్రంలో శాశ్వతంగా నిలవాలి. అందుకే తెలుగు విశ్వ విద్యాలయానికి సురవరం ప్రతాపరెడ్డి గారి పేరు, కోఠీ మహిళా విద్యాలయానికి చాకలి ఐలమ్మ గారి పేరు, నేషనల్ ఇనిస్టిట్యూట్ ఆఫ్ హాండ్లూమ్ టెక్నాలజీకి కొండా లక్ష్మణ్ బాపూజీ గారి పేరును పెట్టుకున్నాం. సామాన్య ప్రజల్లో చైతన్యం నింపి గోల్కొండ కోటను పాలించిన సర్దార్ సర్వాయి పాపన్న గారు అందరికీ స్ఫూర్తిగా నిలవాలని ట్యాంక్బండ్పై వారి విగ్రహాన్ని ప్రతిష్టించుకుంటున్నాం.
ఒక ప్రాంతం నుంచి సమాజంలో గుర్తింపు పొందిన ఉన్నప్పుడు చెప్పుకోవడానికి ఆ ప్రాంత వాసులకు గర్వంగా ఉంటుంది. మొదటి తరంలో సురవరం ప్రతాపరెడ్డి గారు, బూర్గుల రామకృష్ణా రావు గారు, రెండో తరంలో జైపాల్ రెడ్డి గారు, సురవరం సుధాకర్ రెడ్డి గారు మహబూబ్నగర్ జిల్లాకు వన్నె తెచ్చారు. వారెప్పుడు సమాజంలో గౌరవం పొందుతూనే ఉంటారు.
సురవరం విజయలక్ష్మి గారు చిన్న కోరికలు కోరారు. వారి గౌరవం ఆలంపూర్ శాసనసభ నియోజకవర్గానికే కాదు. సురవరం సుధాకర్ రెడ్డి గారి గౌరవం, రాష్ట్ర స్థాయిలో ఉండే విధంగా శాశ్వతంగా గుర్తుంచుకునే విధంగా మంత్రివర్గంలో ఒక మంచి నిర్ణయం తీసుకుంటాం.
ప్రస్తుతం సమాజంలో ప్రజాస్వామిక మూల సిద్ధాంతానికి విరుద్ధంగా పెరిగిపోతున్న విపరీత పోకడలను అడ్డుకోవలసిన అవసరం ఉంది. ప్రజల ప్రాథమిక హక్కులను హరించే ప్రమాదకర పరిస్థితులను తలెత్తుతున్నాయి. ప్రజలను చైతన్య పరిచే ఆలోచన ఎవరూ చేయడం లేదు. అందుకోసం ఐక్య కార్యాచరణ నిర్మించుకోవాలి. అప్పుడే సురవరం లాంటి నేతకు ఘనమైన నివాళి..” అని ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారు అన్నారు.
ఈ సంస్మరణ సభలో మంత్రి జూపల్లి కృష్ణారావు గారు, సురవరం విజయలక్ష్మి గారు, సీపీఐ జాతీయ ప్రధాన కార్యదర్శి డి రాజా గారు, సీనియర్ నాయకులు కె నారాయణ, కేవీపీ రామచందర్ రావు గారు, రామకృష్ణ గారు, శాసనసభ్యుడు కూనంనేని సాంబశివరావు గారితో పాటు పలువురు ప్రజాప్రతినిధులు, కమ్యూనిస్టు నాయకులు పాల్గొన్నారు.
Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri A. Revanth Reddy reiterated that the State Cabinet will take a considered decision so that the name of Comrade Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy, who dedicated his entire life to the ideology he believed in, will be remembered forever in history.
The Chief Minister participated in and addressed the commemoration meeting of Comrade Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy at Ravindra Bharathi, Hyderabad. He said, “It is not just about speaking of ideologies. Suravaram garu earned respect by living with commitment to his ideology for 65 years. Whatever flag he carried and considered a matter of pride, it is very rare that even after his last breath, he rests in its shadow.”
The Chief Minister underlined that the names of great leaders who are closely associated with the people must remain forever in the state. He recalled that Telugu University was named after Suravaram Pratap Reddy garu, Kothi Mahila Vidyalaya after Chakali Ailamma garu, and the National Institute of Handloom Technology after Konda Laxman Bapuji garu. Likewise, the statue of Sardar Sarvai Papanna garu is being installed on Tank Bund to inspire future generations with his legacy of awakening the masses and ruling the Golconda Fort.
Highlighting the pride of Mahabubnagar district, the Chief Minister said that in the first generation leaders like Suravaram Pratap Reddy garu and Burgula Ramakrishna Rao garu, and in the second generation leaders like Jaipal Reddy garu and Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy garu, brought glory to the district and earned lasting respect in society.
He noted that Suravaram Vijayalakshmi garu had placed certain requests, and assured that Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy garu’s honour would not be confined to the Alampur constituency but will be recognised at the state level with a lasting tribute through a Cabinet decision.
The Chief Minister cautioned against the rising extreme trends that go against the core values of democracy, pointing out that dangerous situations are emerging that threaten people’s fundamental rights. He stressed the urgent need for collective action and awareness to safeguard democracy, adding that only then would it be a true tribute to a leader like Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy garu.
Minister Jupally Krishna Rao, Suravaram Vijayalakshmi, CPI National General Secretary D. Raja, senior leaders K. Narayana, KVP Ramachandra Rao, Ramakrishna, MLA Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao, along with many public representatives and communist leaders participated in the meeting.
