స్వతంత్ర సంగ్రామ కాలంలో దేశ ప్రజల్లో స్ఫూర్తిని నింపి అందరినీ ఒక వేదికపైకి తేవడంలో పత్రికలు అపారమైన కృషి చేశాయని ముఖ్యమంత్రి శ్రీ రేవంత్ రెడ్డి గారు అన్నారు. అలాంటి పరిస్థితుల నుంచి ఇప్పుడు కొన్ని వింత పోకడలు పాత్రికేయ రంగానికి ప్రమాదకరంగా పరిణమిస్తున్నాయని ఆందోళన వ్యక్తం చేశారు.
నవ తెలంగాణ దినపత్రిక 10 వ వార్షికోత్సవం సందర్భంగా ఏర్పాటు చేసిన సభలో ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారు ప్రసంగించారు. నిరంతరం ప్రజల పక్షాన నిలబడి స్ఫూర్తినిచ్చే పత్రికా సంస్థలు కొన్ని మాత్రమే ఉంటాయని, అలాంటి కోవలో నవ తెలంగాణ ఒకటని ఈ సందర్భంగా అభినందించారు.
“కమ్యూనిస్టుల ఆధ్వర్యంలోని పత్రికలు ప్రజల పక్షాన నిలబడి చైతన్యం చేయడంలో విశేష కృషి చేశాయి. అందరికీ ఆదర్శంగా నిలబడ్డాయి. ఆనాటి సాయుధ రైతాంగ పోరాటంతో పాటు బాల్య వివాహాలు, కులాల మధ్య అంతరాలు, జోగినీ వ్యవస్థ.. వంటి సమాజంలోని అనేక రుగ్మతలపై ప్రజలను చైతన్యం చేశాయి.
చరిత్రను భవిష్యత్తు తరాలకు అందించడంలో కమ్యూనిస్టుల ఆధ్వర్యంలో నడిచే పత్రికల పాత్ర మరువలేనిది. ఇప్పుడు పాత్రికేయ రంగంలో కొన్ని వింత పోకడలు వచ్చాయి. తమ సంపాదనను కాపాడుకోవడానికి, వారిని ప్రశ్నిస్తున్న వారి పట్ల అసహ్యకర భాషను ఉపయోగించి ప్రత్యర్థుల ప్రతిష్టను దెబ్బతీయడానికి కొన్ని రాజకీయ పార్టీల ఆధ్వర్యంలో మీడియా సంస్థలు రావడం వల్ల జర్నలిస్టు అనే పదానికి అర్థం వెతుక్కోవలసిన దుస్థితి తలెత్తింది.
జర్నలిస్టు ముసుగులో రాజకీయ పార్టీల కోసం ముందుకొస్తున్న వారిపట్ల సమాజం నిశితంగా గమనించాలి. అలాంటి వారు వేరన్న విషయాన్ని అసలు సిసలైన జర్నలిస్టులు ప్రజలకు తెలియజేయాల్సిన అవసరం ఉంది.
నిబద్ధత కలిగిన జర్నలిస్టులు ఈ వింత పోకడలపై సదస్సులు నిర్వహించి నిజమైన జర్నలిస్టులు ఎవరన్నది నిర్వచనం చెప్పాల్సిన అవసరం ఉంది. రాజకీయ పార్టీల నేతలు చేస్తున్న ప్రకటనల పట్ల ప్రజల్లో విశ్వసనీయత తగ్గుతున్న క్రమంలో జర్నలిస్టు కూడా అదే దారిలో వేగంగా పరుగెత్తుతున్నారు.
నిజమైన జర్నలిస్టులకు, ఆ ముసుగులో వస్తున్న వారికి మధ్య ఒక లక్ష్మణ రేఖను గీయాల్సిన అవసరం ఉంది. ఆ పని జరక్కపోతే పత్రికలకే కాదు, దేశ భద్రతకే ప్రమాదం ఏర్పడుతుంది. జర్నలిస్టుల ముసుగు తొడుక్కుని విద్రోహ చర్యలకు పాల్పడిన సంగతి ఇటీవల ఆపరేషన్ సిందూర్ సందర్భంగా కొందరిని అరెస్టు చేసిన ఘటనల్లో వెలుగులోకి వచ్చాయి.
సామాజిక స్థితిగతులను అర్థం చేసుకోవడం, సంక్షేమ పథకాల్లో లోటుపాట్లను సరిదిద్దుకోవడంతో పాటు పరిపాలనలో పట్టు సాధించాలంటే పత్రికల్లో విశ్లేషణాత్మక కథనాలు ఎంతో అవసరం. తప్పులు జరక్కుండా పరిపాలన అందించాలన్న ఉద్దేశంతో అలాంటి వాటిని నేనెప్పుడూ గమనిస్తూనే ఉంటా.
అబద్దాల పునాదులపైన రాజకీయ భవిష్యత్తును నిర్మించుకుంటే అది ఏదో ఒకరోజు కూలుతుందని విశ్వసించే వాడిని…” అని ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారన్నారు. ఈ సందర్భంగా నవ తెలంగాణ ప్రచురించిన ప్రత్యేక సంచికను ఆవిష్కరించారు.

Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri A. Revanth Reddy said that newspapers played a crucial role during the independence struggle by inspiring the people and uniting them on a common platform. He expressed concern that certain alarming trends are becoming dangerous for journalism.
The Chief Minister was speaking at a gathering organized on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of Nava Telangana. He remarked that only a few newspapers consistently stand by the people and serve as a source of inspiration—and Nava Telangana is one among them.
“Newspapers under Communist leadership played a vital role in standing by the people and spreading awareness. They became a model for others. In addition to supporting the armed peasant struggles of the time, they raised awareness on social issues such as child marriage, caste discrimination, and the Jogini system.
The contribution of Communist-run newspapers in preserving history for future generations is remarkable. However, today, some disturbing trends have emerged in journalism. To protect their income or tarnish opponents, some newspapers—under the influence of political parties—are using offensive language against critics. As a result, the very meaning of the word ‘journalist’ is now being questioned.
Society must scrutinize those posing as journalists while serving political interests. It is the responsibility of true journalists to expose such individuals to the public.
Committed journalists should organize discussions on these alarming trends and take the lead in defining who a real journalist is. Just as public trust in political leaders is declining, journalists are also losing credibility by following a similar path.
A clear distinction must be drawn between genuine journalists and those acting under false pretenses. Failure to do so could endanger not only journalism but also the nation’s security. The recent arrests made during Operation Sindoor exposed how some individuals, disguised as journalists, were involved in anti-social activities.
In-depth, analytical journalism is essential to understand societal conditions, identify shortcomings in welfare schemes, and strengthen governance. I always monitor such reporting to ensure error-free administration.
I firmly believe that any political future built on lies will inevitably collapse one day,” the Chief Minister said. On this occasion, he unveiled a special edition published by Nava Telangana.
