ప్రముఖ ఎరోస్పేస్ సంస్థ స్కైరూట్ అత్యంత ప్రతిష్టాత్మకంగా రూపొందించిన విక్రం-1 ఆర్బిట్ రాకెట్ను ముఖ్యమంత్రి శ్రీ రేవంత్ రెడ్డి గారు జెండా ఊపి ప్రారంభించారు. హైదరాబాద్ నుంచి అంతరిక్షం పేరుతో స్కైరూట్ ఏర్పాటు చేసిన కార్యక్రమంలో మంత్రి దుద్దిళ్ల శ్రీధర్ బాబు గారు, సంస్థ ప్రతినిధుల సమక్షంలో ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారు విక్రం-1 రాకెట్ హార్డ్వేర్ను ప్రారంభించారు.
ఏరోస్పేస్ రంగంలో ప్రపంచ అగ్రగామిగా నిలవాలన్న తెలంగాణ లక్ష్య సాధనలో ఇదొక కీలక మైలురాయిగా నిలుస్తుందని ఈ సందర్భంగా ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారు అన్నారు. జెండా ఊపి లాంఛనంగా ప్రారంభించడంతో ఈ రాకెట్ను శ్రీహరికోటలోని సతీష్ ధావన్ అంతరిక్ష కేంద్రంలో ఉన్న ప్రయోగశాలకు బయలుదేరుతుంది.
హైదరాబాద్ మామిడిపల్లిలోని జీఎంఆర్ ఏరోస్పేస్ – ఇండస్ట్రియల్ పార్క్లో నెలకొల్పిన స్కైరూట్కు చెందిన మాక్స్-క్యూ డిజైన్ ఫెసిలిటీలో విక్రం-1 రాకెట్ను రూపొందించారు. దేశ అంతరిక్ష పరిశోధనలో ప్రైవేటు రంగంలో రూపొందించి అభివృద్ధి చేసిన మొట్టమొదటి రాకెట్ కావడం గమనార్హం.
ఈ సందర్భంగా స్కైరూట్ బృందాన్ని ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారు అభినందించారు. ఈ రాకెట్ను పూర్తిగా హైదరాబాద్లోనే రూపొందించి, అభివృద్ధి చేయడం ఎంతో గర్వకారణమని పేర్కొన్నారు.
ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారు ముందుగా స్కైరూట్ సంస్థ ప్రతినిధులతో సమావేశమై విక్రం-1 ఆర్బిట్ రాకెట్ వివరాలను తెలుసుకుని వారితో మాట్లాడారు. సంస్థ ప్రతినిధులు రాకెట్ పనితీరును వివరించారు. స్కైరూట్ ఫెసిలిటీ సెంటర్ పరిశీలించారు.
“ఉపగ్రహాలను అంతరిక్షంలోకి తీసుకువెళ్లేందుకు భారతదేశపు మొట్టమొదటి ప్రైవేటు ఆర్బిటల్ రాకెట్ను స్కైరూట్ అభివృద్ధి చేసింది. ఈ సంస్థ 2022లో తన తొలి రాకెట్ను ప్రయోగించగా, ఇంత తక్కువ సమయంలోనే ఆర్బిటల్ ప్రయోగ దశకు చేరుకోవడం ఒక అద్భుతమైన విజయం” అని ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారు అభినందనలు తెలిపారు.
ఏరోస్పేస్ రంగంలో దేశంలో తెలంగాణ మొదటి స్థానంలో ఉందని, బోయింగ్, ఎయిర్బస్, సాఫ్రాన్ వంటి ప్రపంచ స్థాయి సంస్థలు ఇప్పటికే మన రాష్ట్రంలో ఉన్నాయని గుర్తుచేశారు. ఏరోస్పేస్ను కీలక వృద్ధి రంగంగా పరిగణిస్తూ, 2047 నాటికి ఈ రంగంలో ప్రపంచ అగ్రగామిగా నిలవడమే తెలంగాణ లక్ష్యమని చెప్పారు.
డిసెంబర్ 2023 నుంచి ఇంజనీరింగ్ ఎగుమతుల్లో తెలంగాణ అసాధారణ ప్రతిభ కనబరిచిందని ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారు ప్రస్తావించారు. “కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వ గణాంకాల ప్రకారం, 2023-24, 2024-25 మధ్య ఇంజనీరింగ్ ఎగుమతుల్లో తెలంగాణ 117.9% అత్యధిక వృద్ధిని నమోదు చేసింది. ఈ వృద్ధికి విమాన విడిభాగాలు, రక్షణ పరికరాలు ప్రధానంగా దోహదపడ్డాయి.” అని చెప్పారు.
ప్రపంచ విశ్వవిద్యాలయాలు, పారిశ్రామిక దిగ్గజాలతో భాగస్వామ్యాల ద్వారా ఏరోస్పేస్ రంగం కోసం యువతకు నైపుణ్య శిక్షణ ఇవ్వడంపై ప్రభుత్వం దృష్టి సారిస్తోందని ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారు చెప్పారు. పటిష్టమైన విధానాలు, మౌలిక సదుపాయాలు, ప్రతిభ, చైతన్యవంతమైన పర్యావరణ వ్యవస్థతో స్కైరూట్ వంటి కంపెనీలకు మద్దతు ఇవ్వడానికి తమ ప్రభుత్వం కట్టుబడి ఉందని తెలిపారు.
పరిశ్రమల అవసరాలకు అనుగుణంగా ప్రతిభావంతులకు నైపుణ్య శిక్షణ ఇవ్వాల్సిన ఆవశ్యకతను ముఖ్యమంత్రి నొక్కిచెప్పారు. యంగ్ ఇండియా స్కిల్స్ యూనివర్సిటీ (YISU), అడ్వాన్స్డ్ టెక్నాలజీ సెంటర్లు (ATCs) మరియు త్వరలో ఆధునీకరించనున్న పాలిటెక్నిక్ కళాశాలల ద్వారా రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వం అమలు చేస్తున్న వివిధ నైపుణ్య శిక్షణా కార్యక్రమాలను వివరించారు.
పాఠ్యప్రణాళిక పరిశ్రమల ఆధారితంగా, అన్ని కోర్సులలో ఏకరూపంగా ఉండేలా చూసేందుకు, ATC లు, పాలిటెక్నిక్ కళాశాలలు రెండింటినీ YISU పరిధిలోకి తీసుకురావాలన్న ప్రభుత్వ ప్రణాళికలను వెల్లడించారు.
“ఈ సంస్థలలోని శిక్షకులకు అత్యుత్తమ శిక్షణ ఇవ్వడంపైనే మా దృష్టి ఉంది. రాష్ట్రవ్యాప్తంగా ఉన్న ATC ల్లోని యువతకు టాటా టెక్నాలజీస్ శిక్షణ అందిస్తోంది” అని ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారు వివరిస్తూ హైదరాబాద్లోని మల్లేపల్లిలో ఉన్న ఏటీసీలను సందర్శించాల్సిందిగా స్కైరూట్ నాయకత్వాన్ని ఆహ్వానించారు.
ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారి ప్రతిపాదనపై స్కైరూట్ ఏరోస్పేస్ సీఈఓ, సహ వ్యవస్థాపకుడు పవన్ కుమార్ చందన స్పందిస్తూ, YISUతో కలిసి పనిచేయడానికి ఆసక్తితో ఉన్నట్టు తెలిపారు. “స్కిల్స్ యూనివర్సిటీ ఆలోచన ప్రత్యేకమైంది. మా ప్రతిభావంతుల అవసరాలకు ఇది సరిగ్గా సరిపోతుంది. మేము ఎదుర్కొంటున్న అతిపెద్ద సమస్య నైపుణ్య శిక్షణే. YISUతో భాగస్వామ్యం కావడం మాకు ఎంతో ప్రయోజనకరంగా ఉంటుంది” అని అన్నారు.
అంతరిక్ష సాంకేతిక రంగంలోని స్కైరూట్ ఏరోస్పేస్ సంస్థ గతేడాది ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారు దావోస్ పర్యటన సందర్భంగా ప్రభుత్వంతో అవగాహన ఒప్పందం (MoU) కుదుర్చుకున్న విషయం తెలిసిందే. విక్రం-1 ఆర్బిట్ రాకెట్ తేలికైనదే కాకుండా అత్యంత దృఢమైనదిగా రూపొందించారు. బహుళ ఉపగ్రహాలను ప్రయోగించగలిగే సామర్థ్యం ఈ రాకెట్ కలిగిఉంది.
స్కైరూట్ సీఈఓ పవన్ కుమార్ చందన గారు, సహ వ్యవస్థాపకుడు చీఫ్ ఆపరేటింగ్ ఆఫీసర్ నాగ భరత్ దాకా గారు, గ్రీన్ కో వ్యవస్థాపకుడు అనిల్ కుమార్ చలమలశెట్టి గారు, ముఖ్యమంత్రి ప్రత్యేక కార్యదర్శి బి. అజిత్ రెడ్డి గారితో పాటు స్కైరూట్కు చెందిన ఇతర ప్రతినిధులు ఈ కార్యక్రమంలో పాల్గొన్నారు.
Hon’ble Chief Minister of Telangana, Shri A. Revanth Reddy, along with Hon’ble Minister For Industries Shri Duddilla Sridhar Babu, flagged off the flight hardware of Skyroot Aerospace’s Vikram-1 – India’s first privately developed orbital rocket. The Chief Minister said the occasion marks a key milestone in Telangana’s pursuit of becoming a global leader in the aerospace sector.
The flagging-off ceremony marked the rocket’s formal departure to the launch site at Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota. Skyroot is set to make India’s first private orbital launch attempt in the coming months.
Congratulating the Skyroot team on the occasion, the Chief Minister said it is a matter of great pride that the rocket has been completely designed and developed in Hyderabad.
“Skyroot has developed India’s first privately built orbital rocket to carry satellites into space. The company launched its first rocket in 2022, and reaching the stage of orbital launch in such a short time is a remarkable achievement.”
He highlighted that Telangana is ranked number one in India in the aerospace sector. Global leaders like Boeing, Airbus, and Safran are already present in the state, he added.
He said Telangana aims to become a global leader in aerospace by 2047, with aerospace as a key growth sector.
The Chief Minister stated that Telangana has performed exceptionally well in engineering exports since December 2023.
“As per Central Government data, Telangana recorded the highest growth of 117.9% in engineering exports among Indian states between 2023–24 and 2024–25. Aircraft parts and defence equipment have been the biggest contributors to this growth.”
He explained that the government is focusing on skilling youth for the aerospace sector through partnerships with global universities and industry leaders. With strong policies, infrastructure, talent, and a vibrant ecosystem, the government is committed to supporting companies like Skyroot, he added.
The CM emphasized the need for skilling talent as per industry needs, elaborating on various initiatives being implemented by the state government through Young India Skills University (YISU), Advanced Technology Centres (ATCs), and soon-to-be upgraded polytechnic colleges. He revealed plans to bring both the ATCs and polytechnic colleges under YISU’s ambit to ensure the curriculum is industry-driven and uniform across courses.
“Our focus is on providing the best training to trainers in these institutions. Tata Technologies is providing training to our trainers in ATCs across the state,” the CM said.
Responding to this, Skyroot Aerospace CEO and co-founder Shri Pawan K Chandana, showed strong interest in collaborating with YISU. “The idea of a Skills University is unique and perfectly suits our talent needs. Skilling is the biggest challenge we face, and partnering with YISU will be a great value addition for us.”
The CM invited the Skyroot leadership to visit the ATCs in Mallepally, Hyderabad. He stressed the flexibility YISU offers in dynamically updating the curriculum as per industry requirements.
He also touched upon the government’s transformative plans to address gaps in the state’s school education system. Despite spending Rs 1.08 lakh per student per year in government schools, learning outcomes are not meeting expectations. A detailed plan has been prepared to address this, he added.
Special Secretary to CM Shri B. Ajith Reddy, Shri Bharath Daka, co-founder and COO of Skyroot, and other officials were among those who attended the flagging-off ceremony.
