Telangana State Seed and Organic Certification Authority (TSSOCA) has been presented with the India Seed Award as the best seed certification Authority in the country by the Agriculture Today Group. Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar presented the award from New Delhi through virtual conference on 21st November 2020. National Rainfed Area Authority (NRAA) Chief Executive Officer Ashok Dalwai and other officials were also present. TSSOCA Managing Director K Keshavulu received the award.
Telangana Government’s double bedroom housing project got yet another national recongintion with the Kollur project bagging the Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO) award. The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is taking up a huge project of constructing 15,660 double bedroom houses at Kollur at a cost of Rs.1,408 crore. The project bagged HUDCO award for Best Practices 2019-20 under Housing, Urban Poverty and Infrastructure theme.
The prestigious Skoch Gold award, was presented to Telangana State Police for contributing to outstanding, and timely support to vulnerable people such as daily wage, migrant workers and to many others during the devastating period of corona virus pandemic. T-Chits, Telangana’s Blockchain Project for administering Chit Funds in the State, has won National Conference on e-Governance 2020 (NCeG 2020) Gold Award under the ‘Excellence in Adopting Emerging Technologies’ category. Ms. Rama Devi Lanka, Director, Emerging Technologies received the Award from Union Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Sri Jitendra Singh during the 23rd edition of the Conference on 8th February, 2020 in Mumbai.
Telangana State awarded the Most Improved Big state in Governance for 2019 at India Today State of the States Conclave. Rajyasabha MP Sri K. Kesava Rao received the award on behalf of State from Hon'ble Union Minister Prakash Javdekar at India Today State of the States Conclave-2019 in New Delhi on 22nd November 2019.
Telangana adds another feather in its cap with the Swachh Survekshan Grameen Award-2019. Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilisers Sri D. Sadananda Gowda presented the Award to Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Sri Errabelli Dayakar Rao in New Delhi on 19th November 2019.
Under the leadership of CM Sri K. Chandrashekar Rao, Telangana Government has taken up novel initiatives for improving sanitation conditions in the State. The Palle Pragathi (the 30-day Action Plan to solve the civic problems in the rural areas) programme carried out by the Government enabled the State to achieve remarkable results in sanitation and also helped in controlling the spread of diseases.
TSAT - a public television network under ITE&C Dept., Govt. of Telangana - has earned a rare honour. It was selected for the Digital Transformation in Education Award instituted by Governance Now. TSAT, CEO Sri Shailesh Reddy received the award on 6 November, 2019 in New Delhi. Over the past three years, TSAT network channels have become very popular among the unemployed youth, particularly those residing in remote areas and who cannot afford paying fees for coaching. The network expanded to new media platforms line Facebook, Twitter and YouTube apart from the traditional satellite media.
Telangana Government bagged National Tourism Award under ‘Most Innovative Use of IT and Social Media/Mobile App/Website’ category for its first-of-its-kind mobile app - ‘I Explore Telangana’. The App provides information on Telangana's tourist destinations, among other services. Vice President Sri M. Venkaiah Naidu presented the award at a ceremony in New Delhi on 27th September, 2019, in the presence of Union Minister of State for Tourism and Culture Sri Prahalad Singh Patel. Telangana Minister for Tourism & Culture Sri V. Srinivas Goud received the award while Prl. Secretary (Tourism & Culture) Sri C. Parthasarathi, Tourism Commissioner Smt. Sunita M Bhagwat and Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation MD Sri B. Manohar were present at the ceremony.
The Hyderabad police received SKOCH Gold award in Road safety and Smart traffic management in the country. The award was presented at SKOCH Awards 2019 event in New Delhi. M. Narsing Rao, Traffic Inspector received SKOCH Gold Award on behalf of the City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar. Hyderabad police also received SKOCH silver awards for SHE Teams, Bharosa, CCTV Surveillance Project and in Dial 100 system.
Hyderabad bagged the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Urban Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NULM) Swachhata Excellence Award. Hyderabad is the only Metro city with over one million population to get the Swachhata Excellence award. Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner Sri M. The Telangana Irrigation department has bagged the prestigious ‘Central Board of Irrigation and Power’ award for the year 2018. The award was presented for implementation of the Mission Bhagiratha scheme in the state which was initiated for rejuvenating the rivers and protecting the water resources. The award was presented by Union Minister Sri Nitin Gadkari to Minor Irrigation CE Sri Shyamsundar on Friday in New Delhi.

Sri Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Highways presented the Best Municipal Corporation in Solid Waste Management award to GHMC Commissioner Sri B. Janardhan Reddy at the Nava Bharath Infrastructure Conclave held in Mumbai on August 24, 2018.
The Municipal Administration & Urban Development Department has bagged 22 Skoch awards under various categories for its reforms, innovations and citizen-centric policies. The Commissioner and Director for Municipal Administration (CDMA) and the Mission for Elimination of Poverty in Municipal Areas (MEPMA) each have been selected for two awards. Siddipet municipality has bagged six awards while Sircilla got five. The Karimangar Municipal Corporation won three awards whereas Boduppal and Shadnagar municipalities received two each.

Siddipet secured award for ‘Cleanest City in South zone’, Boduppal awarded ‘Best City in Citizens Feedback-South Zone’ and Peerzadiguda received award for ‘Best City in Innovation and Best Practices-South Zone’.
Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has bagged the Prime Minister’s Excellence Award for its programmes in implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. The Health Department of the State government has received ‘CSI Nihilent e-Governance Awards-2017’ for adopting technology to extend health care services in State-run health institutions and various schemes in the State. The authorities succeeded in applying technology in KCR Kits scheme, Mother and Child Tracking System (MCTS), National Health Mission (NHM) payroll automation through Aadhaar, e-Hospitals and many more. Commissioner of Health and Family Welfare, Karuna Vakati and other senior health officials received the Computer Society of India’s (CSI) Nihilent e-Governance (CNeG) Award from Finance Minister of West Bengal, Amit Mitra and Deputy Speaker, Rajasthan in a function held recently in Kolkata.
Telangana State has been adjudged as the State with best urban infrastructure in the country. Novel initiatives like Mission Bhagiratha (Urban), Haritha Haaram and Double Bedroom Housing schemes in urban areas have received immense appreciation. Principal Secretary for Municipal Administration Sri Naveen Mittal and Telangana Bhavan Resident Commissioner Sri Arvind Kumar received the award on behalf of the State government.

Telangana state received awards in two categories. The best performing large state award in the all important Economy category and the Cleanliness and Environment category at the annual India Today State of the States conclave 2017. Telangana state honoured with eight awards for promotion of tourism and cleanliness at the World Tourism Day celebrations of the Ministry of Tourism in New Delhi. The awards were announced for Telangana in the categories of heritage structures, cleanliness in tourist places and tourist guides. The state received awards for Cleanliness, Best Tourist Guide, Best Tourism Promotion, Publicity Material, Best Heritage City, Best Maintained and Disable Friendly Monument, Civic Management Tourist Destination in India, Best Stand alone Convention Centre and Best Medical Tourism Facility.

State Civil Supplies Department has received two National SKOCH Awards this year for introducing the latest technology based Command Control Centre and Financial Management System, Online Procurement Management System (FMS-OPMS) wings. The Telangana Civil Supplies Corporation stood first in the country by adopting Information Technology for its various programmes. Command Control Centre in Civil Supplies is one-of-its-kind established in the country. The Financial Management System was developed to ease the daily transactions which can be viewed online by concerned staff and officers.
Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TSBIE) has been selected for SKOCH Award for providing online services and also another award for bringing reforms in conducting the Intermediate examinations. The award was presented to the Board Secretary Dr. Ashok in New Delhi.
The ‘Online citizen services of the Telangana Government’s Commissioner and Director of Municipal Administration has been awarded the Order of Merit in SKOCH Award under smart governance category. T. K. Sreedevi, Commissioner, and Director of Municipal Administration received the award at a function held in New Delhi, in September 2017.
Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC), which has won the ‘Order of Merit’ award-2017 by Skoch, has also bagged the ‘Skoch Gold’ award for being voted as the best city among the 123 cities that were selected for different category Skoch awards. Mayor Nannapuneni Narender received the award at Constitution Club of India in New Delhi. It may be noted here that the Gurgaon-based Skoch Group, an independent assessor of States, has been giving away awards to encourage top-performing government bodies and organizations working to eliminate open defecation, enhancing sanitation and public health. The Warangal city has recently won the Best Heritage City award and ‘Unnat Bharat Abhiyan’ award too.
Hon'be Chief Minister Sri K. Chandrashekar Rao is selected for the Agriculture Leadership Award - 2017 by the Indian Council of Food and Agriculture (ICFA). The award is in recognition of his path-breaking initiatives in irrigation and agriculture sectors, the selection committee said. The Committee quoted that the interventions of the State Govt was “creating far-reaching impact on the rural sector” and had touched the lives of millions of farmers. The prestigious award was presented by Prof. Dr. K. S. Solanki, Governor of Haryana to Minister for Agriculture Sri Pocharam Srinivas Reddy at the 10th Global Agriculture Leadership Summit in New Delhi.

Smart passport verification process, cyber forensics lab initiative, smart innovative policing won laurels at the Conference while Hyderabad Police Commissioner and Suryapet SP were presented with special jury awards.
Telangana Police’s Hawk Eye mobile app has been selected for National e-Governance Gold Award for 2016-17 under the category of Innovative Use of Mobile Phone Technology in e-Governance. The Award is instituted by Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances and Department of Electronics and Information Technology, GoI. Commissioner, Hyderabad Police received the Award from Union Minister of State, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology Sri PP Chowdary at the National Conference on e-Governance held on January 9 & 10, 2017 at Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. Hawk Eye App was the only eGov initiative from a Police Department out of all the 20 Awardees selected under 12 categories.

Telangana Police also won awards under ‘Scientific Aids to Investigation’, ‘Forensic Sciences’, ‘Computer Awareness’, ‘Lifting and Packing of Exhibits’, ‘Police Dog Investigation’ and ‘Best State in India for empowering Police with Information Technology’ categories.
